Ryan passed away on August 13, Sunday, after battling a rare brain disease and multiple sclerosis. According to a PEP.ph report, the news of Ryan’s passing was shared by Reily Santiago, brother of Randy. Ryan is the second child of the singer-actor with wife Marilou Coronel. The Santiagos have two other sons, Raphael and Raiko. Peaceful Passing, Says Family An Inquirer report cited a Facebook post shared by Reily, which said that the young man passed away peacefully and without pain. They also said that he will be terribly missed, most especially “his infectious smile, funny jokes and his great fashion style.” Two years ago, Ryan was brought to the hospital and was found to be infected by a fungal virus. He was still a college student at the De La Salle – College Of St. Benilde then. He was later on diagnosed with a rare brain disease and multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis is a disease that affects the nerves of the brain and the spinal cord, which leads to the impairment of muscular coordination and speech. The family received many messages of sympathy from fellow actors, actresses and personalities in local showbiz. These included Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano, Paco Arespacochaga and Martin Nievera. According to the family, Ryan Santiago’s remains were cremated on the morning of August 14. They also shared details of the urn viewing, which will be at La Salle Greenhills Chapel, from August 14 to 16, 5:00 p.m. to 12 midnight.
