Teresita Seen “WinWyn” Marquez is an aspiring model whose dreams are about to be fulfilled. And if you aren’t updated on who she, you might just miss her if she wins a Miss Universe crown. As she slowly climbs her way up the ladder of beauty queens and women of change, she attempts to gain a new title for herself as the first Filipina and first Asian to ever participate and win the annual Reina Hispanoamericana beauty pageant. But that’s not the rest of it!

Winwyn is the recipient of a list of awards. In 2015, she was top 15 in Binibining Pilipinas and bagged the Miss Talent, Miss Jag and Best in National Costume awards. In her academics, she was pretty victorious too. She received the Global Achiever Award in Southville International School and Colleges, and other awards too during her college years. Other than all that, here are 5 things we know about Winwyn Marquez:

Who is Winwyn Marquez

1. She is the daughter of Alma Moreno and Joey Marquez. According to her Official Facebook page, the 25-year-old model is also an actress. Makes sense now that we know who her parents are. Other than that, she is also a dancer. On her YouTube channel, she posted a few videos of dance practices. They may be old, but if she leaves them there, then she must value them nonetheless.

Happy happy birthday mama!❤️😘 I love you!!!!!

2. She is a business owner of a Food Cart. Wyn has a degree in BSBA Marketing Management from San Beda College Alabang. And despite her putting her focus on other things such as modeling, she still found time to pursue her business ideals. In 2016, she opened a simple food cart business called ‘Wicked Carnival.’ It’s located in Xavier Nuavali. On her menu, she serves simple meriendas such as Funnel Cakes, Oreos with ice cream, even pasta!

3. Her boyfriend Mark Herras inspired her to join Miss World 2017. Her boyfriend for more than a year Mark Herras told PEP in July that he encouraged Wyn to join the Miss World. This was simply because he believed that it was the way to reaching his girlfriend’s dreams. And unsurprisingly, Wyn took the challenge. It wasn’t her first time to join the competition. In fact, she had joined in 2015, but lost. Amazingly enough, Wyn was able to get her comeback and won the Reina Hispano-America title. After winning that, she found her ticket to another pageant in Bolivia where as mentioned, she participated as the first Asian and Filipina.

Just wing it. Life, eyeliner, everything. 😅

4. Her aunt is beauty queen Melanie Marquez. Probably one of her greatest influencers in the catwalk is the lawyer-slash-fashion model Melanie Marquez. Melanie herself was a local pageant winner. On Wyn’s loss in 2015, PEP reports that they were all deeply disturbed about it. But now that she’s rising to the occasion, rest assured she’s helping Wyn bag her next competition with grace.

5. She acts as Ribay in GMA’s “Mulawin vs Ravena.” While our Miss victorious go out to participate in pageants, she also acts as Ribay in a Philippine drama-fantasy series featured in GMA. She acts as the confidante of Rashana, a role acted by Chynna Ortaleza. This may be a minor role, but it’s enough to keep Wyn Marquez a very busy person.

Winwyn Marquez’s spot on television began when she first started performing in Party Pilipinas and acting a few other minor roles on TV series.

RIBAY. #MVRPagkakaibigan mamayang gabi!🙌🏼
