You and your partner can take a short break on the grounds or go through the “Cosmic Journey” trail. Here, you’ll go through 14 stations telling the story of how the universe came to life. You’ll just need to pay a 50 pesos entrance fee and you can go on the journey through the woods with your special someone and really revel in each other’s presence.
2. Take A Romantic Nature Walk: Camp John Hay Eco Trail or Yellow Trail
John Hay boasts of serenity, calm, and everything nature has to offer. And one of the best parts of it are the trails. My friends and I definitely have a lot of good memories there. And I also have a couple of friends who got together with their partners on that trail. If you think tiring yourself out walking through the woods isn’t romantic, you might have to think twice when you get here. Just imagine reaching the top and marveling at the beauty nature has to offer at the top or reaching the end with the person who matters a lot to you by your side. 3. Take A Picnic On Top Of A Mountain: Mt. Kalugong
Don’t worry. Despite its title, getting to Mt. Kalugong is more of a walk than a trek. But, up top is as beautiful as any mountain out there. Near the famous rock formations of the mountain is a cafe where you and your loved one can chill, talk, and relax while taking in the wonderful view of La Trinidad. If you’re feeling a little adventurous, the both of you can sit on the edge of a cliff, let out a few shouts maybe, and marvel at the breathtaking view. 4. Bury The Bad Hand In Hand: Cemetery of Negativism
The Cemetery of Negativism or the Lost Cemetery is also found at Camp John Hay. And in accordance with its name, it’s a symbolic site where you can bury negative thoughts, emotions, or attitudes or in general negative vibes. The walkway is scattered with tombstones with amusing characters and lines that’ll surely amuse you or catch your attention. It might be a fun and refreshing experience to try and bury the negatives of your lives individually or together hand in hand. Just remember that as you leave, you left those negatives behind for a reason and that’s to put a little more positive into your lives.
5. Take A Romantic Hike: Mt. Yangbew
Mt. Yangbew, or also often called as Little Pulag is a real hike. Starting off on a steep concrete path, you get on to steep dirt pathways and steps. But, it’s a real treat once you get on the top. Lush, wide, flat fields of grass grace the eyes. And all around the mountain top is a spectacular view of La Trinidad and even of Mt. Kalugong. You and your partner can even ride horses and tour the expanse of the mountain top. Or you can spend the day decked out in your picnic blankets and feasting on picnic food. Either way, it’s perfect for a couple’s adventure and the victories of getting to the top are more than enough.
6. Take a Romantic Early Walk: Burnham Park
Before you say anything, hear us out. Burnham Park might be worn out but, you would still be able to appreciate it if you simply know the right time to go there. And the perfect time would be in the early mornings on weekdays. The sun would have just started dancing with the treetops and would be spilling warm comforting rays on the pavement. The lake would be glistening. And the air would be crisp and clean. The best part is that you’ll get only get a handful of people strolling with you. It’s beautiful and a morning walk here with a warm hand in your own can make any day brighter already.
7. Take A Romantic Stroll: Teacher’s Camp/ Leonard Wood/ Southdrive
There are some people who appreciate afternoons or early mornings simply walking together and talking about the millions of things on their minds. And Baguio has a lot to offer for these couples. There’s Teacher’s Camp where afternoons filled with golden sunlight transport you to everlasting summers on their paths surrounded by quaint American style lodgings. And there’s Leonard Wood Rd. which is stuck in between the bustle of commercial buildings and the quiet of Teacher’s Camp.
