UFC fighter Ronda Rousey started counting down to the end of her career and will be retiring soon. During the Ellen DeGeneres show on Tuesday, Ronda Rousey revealed that her fight with Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 soon will be one of her last fights.
Ronda Rousey Confirms Retirement On The Ellen DeGeneres Show
On Tuesday, Ronda Rousey said she was more than ready for her fight with Amanda Nunes but she was also preparing for the end. Ellen asked how soon will she be retiring, Ronda Rousey said, “Not that long, I’m wrapping it up. This is definitely one of my last fights.”
The 29-year-old fighter became very emotional when they talked about her heartbreaking loss to Holly Holm in Melbourne, Australia on November.
Ronda Rousey News, UFC President Dana White Confirms Retirement
According to Fox Sports, UFC President Dana White confirmed the news and said that the former women’s bantamweight champion has already informed him of her retirement. In the report, White further said that Rousey had other passions to pursue like her acting career.
Dana said, “I think when she says she’s done, she’s done, at the end of the day, she stopped doing judo, she moved onto mixed martial arts. I think when she’s done with that, she’ll probably move onto acting.”
In the report, Dana went on to say that Rousey has accomplished what she set out to do and that it was time for her to think about other things. He added that if she dedicated herself to acting, she’ll even be better at it.
Ronda Rousey Acting Career
Ronda Rousey’s acting career jumpstarted during her appearances on movies like “The Expendables 3,” “Entourage” and “Furious 7.” After her loss to Holly Holm on November, Rousey was set to film two movies but did not push through.
The first film was a a cult classic film called “Road House” where Rousey was supposed to be the lead actor. Unfortunately, the project did not fall through. The other film was called “Mile 22.” Ronda was supposed to star with Mark Wahlberg however, the film was delayed due to Mark Wahlberg’s busy schedule.
