Sarah Geronimo Back As The Voice Teens Coach, Reveals Why She Left Last Season

ABS-CBN revealed not just three, but four coaches for its upcoming show The Voice Teens. Sarah Geronimo will be back as a coach, together with Bamboo, Lea Salonga and Sharon Cuneta.

The Voice Teens will be the first of its kind in Asia, that will focus on teenage contestants. ABS-CBN is currently conducting preliminary audition caravans all over the Philippines. The show will air during the summer. All four coaches have started preparing for the show’s upcoming launch, which included a photo shoot for the show.

Sarah Geronimo Shares Why She Left The Voice

Sarah Geronimo shared the reason via an ABS-CBN interview why she no longer took on coaching duties last season. She revealed that she felt a lot of pressure and felt that she needed a break. When she was asked whether not being able to coach any winners the past season had anything to do with her break, she admitted that it had an effect on her as well.

Sarah was among the original coaches of the show since it started in 2013. She was a coach for Seasons 1 and 2 of The Voice, and another season of The Voice Kids. Sarah passed up being a coach during The Voice Kids Season 2.

Sarah G, Lea, Sharon and Bamboo Share Their Gameplan

All four coaches are excited to be back. Each of them shared their gameplan for the upcoming competition.

Bamboo is not fazed by the fact that he is the only male coach. He thinks he will survive this season and said that “at the end of the day, it’s about the kids.” Bamboo coached last season’s winner, Elha Nympha.

Sharon on the other hand said that her experience is her gameplan, which she said is what Lea and Sarah are likely to bring as well.

When asked about her gameplan, Sarah said it is and always will be her experience as a singer and performer, which she will wholeheartedly share with the kids under her wing.
