Erik Matti and Dondon Monteverde are up to another horrifying movie. The people behind the award-winning devil-infested film, “Seklusyon,” now offers a haunting and ominous film titled, “Ang Pagsanib Kay Leah dela Cruz.” The movie stars Shy Carlos and Sarah Lahbati and is directed by Katski Flores. The trailer has been released recently on Facebook.
“Seklusyon” was an entry in the Manila Film Festival in 2016. Erik Matti won Best Director while the film intself won Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Design, Best Theme Song, and Best Production design. The movie is a take on fighting your inner demons. It is set in a monastery during the 1940’s where deacons are sent to a retreat house before they can fulfill their dream of being ordained as priests.
As the deacons battle their personal demons, the Church sent a miraculous girl named Anghela to live with them. Then strange things began to happen which lead to a priest’s decision to investigate the true identity of Anghela. The priest then started to discover terrifying truths in the course of his investigation.

A horror film is undoubtedly a difficult genre to pull off. Every element- from script to acting, cinematography, special effects and among others- should be perfectly in place to deliver an immensely horrifying movie.
