Even if KZ Tandingan lost her fight in Hunan Television’s “Singer 2018,” she still made a mark on the show and on the Chinese audience. This week is the show’s final episode. Tandingan went back home to the Philippines in last week’s “Breakout Round.” But she goes back on stage during the final episode to sing “Bang Bang” with Jessie J and singer Coco Lee.
British pop singer Jessie J is in the running to become the “Singer 2018” winner. In the finale, she picked Tandingan and Hong Kong singer Coco Lee. They sang the Grammy-winning song “Bang Bang.” Lee took Ariana Grande’s parts of the song, while Tandingan took the famous Nicki Minaj rap verse. KZ Tandingan Goes ‘Bang Bang’ Back To ‘Singer 2018’
For last week’s “Breakout Round,” three out of seven regular contestants of the show fought for their position in the Magic 7. Jessie J, Wang Feng, and the Host Angela Chang got the privilege of being safe because of their high scores in the contest. Meanwhile, Hua Chenyu, Henry Huo, and the newest addition Tenggar have to fight for their spot in the final episode.
James Li, another contestant on the show, gets to pick the order of performances. He stayed the longest in the show considering his eight weeks of being safe. Since Chenyu, Huo, and Tenggar have the advantage of performing last, Li can only arrange their order on who goes first among them.
The past artists considered for the Breakout Round are the following: Li Xiadong, KZ Tandingan, Sam Lee, Juno Su, Tien Chong, and Yisa Yu. The order of their performances is the arrangement listed above. Tandingan sang Freddie Aguilar’s “Anak” and finished seventh in the show. Meanwhile, the four past contestants buying for their spot in the Magic 7 got all four top places. Chenyu took the first spot and took home the bragging rights for the episode. Li took second, Tenggar took third, and Xiadong landed fourth.
And The Winner Of ‘Singer 2018’ Is…
The final episode falls into two rounds. In the first round, the Magic 7 gets to perform a song with a guest singer of their choice. It is a fact that Jessie J and Tandingan became close throughout the competition. Tandingan also admitted many times that Jessie J is her idol. When Jessie J picked a guest singer to perform with, she picked Tandingan. She also picked the singer, Coco Lee.
On the second round, the Magic 7 will sing their “Encore Song.” With that, Jessie J sang the Whitney Houston classic, “I Will Always Love You.” Houston is a notable idol of Jessie J.
After combining the scores from round one with round two, the contestant with the highest votes wins the show. British pop singer Jessie J is the winner of Hunan Television’s “Singer 2018!”
