South Korea Gets Exclusive Fila Pokemon Sneakers

From digital sprites, to cards, to toys, Pokémon has made fans catch ’em all since 1996. Now, the media giant tempts its fanbase to collect footwear, courtesy of Fila Korea. So here’s a little something for all you avid Pokémon fans out there. Behold: the Pokémon sneakers. Available in two models, the shoes feature the first generation Pokémon starter trio (Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle), as well as Pikachu. Bonus: they come in appropriately themed boxes.

Fila Pokemon Sneakers: Classic Kicks Model

The Classic Kicks model features a traditional, unisex canvas low top and flat lace design. As such, it is lightweight and breathable, with the disadvantage of not being as sturdy as the Court Deluxe. It is however, a versatile look. The plain prints in particular match nicely with formal attires, thanks to their sleek design and colored trim. Pikachu prints come in both plain white and patterned yellow. They might even match nicely with a blazer for semi-formal attires. The Fila Pokémon Classic Kicks sit at $36 per pair on the Fila online store.

Fila Pokemon Sneakers: Court Deluxe Model

The Court Deluxe model has a thicker leather build, making it stronger and more durable. It also sports a heavier and more modern design. The fabric molds its shape after the foot, allowing for a more comfortable fit. Like the Classic Kicks, it is meant to be unisex, though the lighter colors are geared to more feminine tastes. It is, however, more expensive, sitting at $65 a pair on the Fila online store. It also fastens with straps instead of laces, which means they are not as fashionably versatile as the Classic Kicks.

Both the Classic Kicks and Court Deluxe shoes are limited edition and are available via the Fila Korea store. They are also available for shipping through the Harum.io Korean proxy service, for a marginally increased price.
