According to ratings provided to Variety by Symphony Advanced Media, the first season of “Stranger Things” was the third most watched original series in Netflix. The drama had an average of 14.07 million adults aged 18-49 in the first 35 days of streaming in July. Spoiler alert: This update contains Stranger Things spoilers. The first season ended with Elle or Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), saving Will (Noah Shnapp) and defeating the Demogorgon with her powers . Because of an explosion, It was unclear to viewers if Elle was destroyed with the monster or was rather transported to a different place or the Upside Down. The second season of “Stranger Things” is said to have nine episodes by the original writers/directors, the Duffer Brothers, Matt and Ross. The Duffers seemed to have given away the titles of these episodes through phrases seen in the trailer video. The nine phrases in the Netflix series trailer are: Madmax, The Boy Who Came Back to Life, The Pumpkin Patch, The Palace, The Storm, The Pollywog, The Secret Cabin, The Brain, and The Lost Brother. This counters a popular theory in which the kids will be in the 90s when the series returns in a sequel format. While Matt Duffer has confirmed that the second season of “Stranger Things” is going to be a sequel, he confirmed that there will be no significant time jump. The setting will stay in the 80s. This means that Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Joyce (Winona Ryder), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Hopper (David Harbour) will definitely be back! The Duffer Brothers have announced on EW that there will be four new characters in the upcoming season. The new cast members have not been named, but announcements are expected soon. The showrunners have confirmed that this will indeed happen. “We kinda just peeked back the curtain and revealed a tiny bit of the Upside Down, so we definitely want to explore a little bit more.”, Matt Duffer told EW.
