Strawberry Festival 2023 is back! And for this year’s celebration, the theme is “A Festival For Recovery: Building a Brighter Future From Adversities” with the aim to revive the local economy affected by the pandemic. The festival will run from March 6 to 31, 2023 so there’s still plenty of time for you to catch up. Expect that it’s going to be a “berry” fun month!
Strawberry Festival: A History
The first-ever Strawberry Festival in La Trinidad, Benguet, can be traced back to 1981. It began with former Mayor Hilarion Pawid who formed the festival in acknowledgment of the potential of strawberry farming in La Trinidad, Benguet. Now, the festival is celebrated to showcase the rich produce of strawberries in La Trinidad. And it remains as one of the biggest festivals that people anticipate each year in the region.

Civic Parade
Strawberry Festival 2023 will hold its traditional Civic Parade on March 17, 2023. The parade will take place from the Commission on Audit (COA) to the Municipal Gymnasium. There is also a Mass, Main program, Kekkan, Owik tan Tayao and multicultural celebrations at the Municipal Gym, and acoustic band competition at the municipal park.
Drum and Lyre, Street Dancing, and Small Floats Parade
This year’s celebration highlights the Drum and Lyre, Street Dancing, and Small Floats Parade on March 18, 2023. The parade will run from KM. 6 to the Municipal grounds. It will be followed by the Strawberry Cake Fest at Lednicky Hall. Then Battle of the Bands will also take place at the Municipal Gym.
Mr. & Ms. La Trinidad Strawberry Festival
Watch the most awaited pageant for this year’s Strawberry Festival. The search for the next Mr. & Ms. La Trinidad Strawberry Festival 2023 pre-pageant will be on March 19, 2023, at the Municipal Gym. Then you can watch the coronation night on March 26 at BSU Gym.
Balili Cleanup Drive
The Balili Cleanup Drive is set on March 24, 2023. Where local officials and residents get to participate in the usual cleanup drive at the Balili river. Furthermore, tourists are also encouraged to participate in the event.
Job Fair
The return of the Strawberry Festival is also an opportunity for the people to have work. A job fair at the Municipal Gym will open on March 25, 2023.
Dongba ni Kabajo
On the succeeding days of March 25 and 26 Dongba ni Kabajo will be back. Meanwhile, the venue is to be announced. In addition, the activity is open to horseback riding enthusiasts and the public.
Barangay Night
There will be a Barangay Night that will happen on March 29, 2023, at the Municipal Gym. This activity will be a tribute to the barangays by the municipal government. Then, the Strawberry Festival 2023 closing program will follow on March 31, 2023, at the Municipal Gym.
