Summer vacation is here and for people who did not brave the crowds in Baguio during the Lenten Season, there are still many reasons to go up to Baguio. Many more activities and events are lined for the rest of the summer months so book that trip now.

Holy Week in Baguio saw two major religious events – the staging of the three-night Mega Senakulo and the inter-faith Easter Sunrise Service. A lot more is in store for visitors to the Summer Capital, according to the Sun Star Baguio.

Religious and Spiritual Events

Several religious groups will be holding their events in the city in the coming weeks. The 2nd North Luzon Kids for Christ Family Conference at the Baguio Convention Center  will be on April 28 to 30. In celebration of the friendship between Israel and the Philippines, the Israel-Philippines Festival Baguio Leg will be staged at the Melvin Jones grandstand on April 27 to 29.

On April 28, the St. Andrew’s Theological Seminary will have a chorale concert at the Anglican Cathedral of the Resurrection. The Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary will also be holding a Pastoral Care Seminar this week.

Bowling Cup SUMVAC 2017, Batalympics, Archery Clinic

A specially organized Bowling Cup for Sumvac 2017 will happen at the St. Vincent Lanes from April 28 to 29, while the Batalympics on April 29 will be held at the Athletic Bowl. From April 12 until the whole month of May, an Archery Summer Clinic is being held at the Archery Range.

The Baguio Swimming Pool near the Athletic Bowl will also host a Learn To Swim Program the whole month of May. For those who want to learn Muay Thai, a Summer Clinic will be conducted on May 5 to 7 at the Philippine Military Academy.

Baguio Liberation Day, PESO Job Fair

On April 27, Baguio Liberation Day will be remembered with a tribute to the city’s veterans organized by the city government. In another city-led activity, May 1 will be marked with a Peso Job Fair at the Baguio Convention Center.  The Department of Labor and Employment will host simultaneous Job and Business Fairs also at the Baguio Convention Center, while a Livelihood Fair will be happening at the Porta Vaga Mall.

For the rest of May, other relevant events are lined up such as the 1st Vantage Organic Farming Farmers Congress at the Baguio Convention Center, on May 3 and a National Seminar-Workshop on Teaching Mathematics in the K to 12, May 4 at Crown Legacy Hotel.

The much-awaited Baguio Summer Carshow Festival will be done at the Baguio Athletic Bowl on May 5 to 7. This is being done through the leadership of the Liga ng mga Barangay.
