Tawag Ng Tanghalan Aug 14 performances, daily winner, and champion
First contender, Dianne Llanes. Dianne is contender from Muntinlupa. Despite the fact that she sings every night, she still has stage fright. She thinks that weakness is also her strength. Dianne takes the stage singing “Akap” by Imago motivated by her dream to become a famous singer someday. Thanks to her mom who helps her improve every day and her daily stage fright, Dianne was able to overcome her weakness and give justice to Imago’s track.
Judge Karylle loved how simple Dianne’s performance was but still gave her goosebumps. She loved her voice and confidence on stage even if she said she was very nervous. Judge Jaya also enjoyed her performance. She
Second contender, Grace Padulaga. Grace’s mom is her travel buddy. But sadly, her mom passed away 10 months ago. But she’s happy that before she passed, Grace was able to give her a grandson. Grace from Samar is married to an Australian. She and her husband have been friends for around 13 years already. She hopes that winning TNT would help her set up an education plan for her son. Grace sang “Missing You” by John Waite belting out that husky voice and giving off that rocker vibe.
Judge Louie Ocampo loved Grace’s husky voice and saw a bit of Tina Turner in her. She was so relaxed but felt the intensity of her song and her performance.
Third contender, Raymundo Alvarez. Raymundo has been singing since he was a kid and he was always with his mom at that time. Things changed when his parents separated when he was just six years old. The hurt was too much that he fled away from home. He learned to live alone on the streets with other kids working as a vendor for rags and a parking boy. It was also then when he found his passion for singing. That went on until he was 11 years old until he found his way home. He now works as a barber. When he knew that there was a TNT audition, he then went to Manila and tried to make it there and pursue his dreams. Raymundo sang “Angels Brought Me Here” by Guy Sebastian.
Judge Mitoy mentioned Raymundo didn’t have a strong start since he was out of the song’s timing. But he was able to pick himself up and finish strong. He said he used old style in singing which was kind of refreshing for him. Judge Kayla said Raymundo had a great voice, timbre, clear intonation, and clear vocal runs, adn charisma. She disagreed, however, with Mitoy saying Raymundo gave off a modern singing style which she liked very much.
