POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG RECAP: On Saturday, Emmar Cabilogan won as daily winner on Tawag Ng Tanghalan. However, defending champion Jex de Castro still won over Emmar with an average score of 93 percent. Today, Jex battles new contenders. Will he get his third win today?
Tawag Ng Tanghalan Dec 19 Performances
First contender on stage was Wilame Turnbull. Wilame sang Toni Braxton’s hit song, “How could and Angel Break My Heart.” Hurado Nyoy said Wilame’s voice was really good she just had to work on cleaning her vocal riffs a bit but all in all it was a great performance.
Next on stage was Faustino Villarta from Cebu City. Faustino is a father of three. His dream is to become an actor. In 1980, he joined auditions but found no luck. He then worked as a cargador, worked in a junkshop and years later, he made it as an actor at a loval TV show in Cebu. Faustino sang “Rollin'” by Tina Turner. Hurado Rey Valera said he like Faustino’s ‘swagger’ on stage and said he believes this is the beginning of his career on television.
Last contender on stage was Ernesto Llano. Ernest climbs coconut trees and gives the fruit to buyers for a living. He is a father of two and hopes to win this competition for them. Ernest sang “Lupa” by Rico J. Puno. Hurado Billy Crawford said he like Ernest’s powerful voice and said he is really fit for the show. Hurado Erik agreed with Billy and said he liked his voice quality, stage presence and confidence.
Tawag Ng Tanghalan December 19 Kampeon, Monday Daily Winner
Monday daily winner is ‘buko-singer’ Ernesto Llano garnering an average score of 91.6 percent. Ernest sang “Till” by Shirley Bassey to battle defending champion Jex de Castro. Jex sang “Gaya ng Dati” by Gary Valenciano hoping to keep his place as defending champion.
The winner is– Jex de Castro with an average score of 94 percent.
