Tawag Ng Tanghalan

POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG RECAP: On yesterday’s episode, ‘resbaker’ Ferry Glen Atilano grabbed the ‘golden mikropono’ from ex-defending champion Amor Martin. Today, new title holder Ferry, battles new contenders on the show. Ferry first joined the show in February and wasn’t able to make it even as a daily winner. Now, he has a chance to climb up the ladder as he goes for his second win on the show. Will his voice and chill timing save him today?

Tawag Ng Tangahalan December 27 Performances

First contender on stage was Ezekiel Farsario from Quezon City. Ezekiel is a 23-year-old pastors kid. His brother passed away and his parents wanted Ezekiel to be strong so they named him Ezekiel, which means strength of God. He sang “Kahit Kailan” by South Border hoping to make it and reach his dream to become a recording artist.

Hurado Karylle said she was looking for a bit more breathing technique when he did his falsetto riffs. Hurado Nyoy Volante said Ezekiel was good but noticed he was a bit nervous and that affected his performance.

Next contender was Omar Liwanag from Tarlac. Omar is a teacher turned businessman. He also loves singing for special events and hopes to win the competition to further expand his business and become a real singer. Omar sang “Kahit Maputi na ang buhok ko” to challenge other contenders. Hurado Rey Valera said he gave a good performance but the song wasn’t really a contest piece and the band over powered his voice.

Last contender was Mary Kashmere Solano from Bacolod. Mary is an 18-year-old 3rd year BS Psychology student. She is a scholar for being part of the college choir. Mary sang “Making Love Out of Nothing at All” and dedicated her performance to her mom who encouraged her to join Tawag Ng Tanghalan. Hurado K Brosas said Mary was able to capture the emotion of the song. She also liked how Mary was able to put her dynamics on the right parts of the song. Hurado Louie Ocampo said he liked Mary’s lower tones and called her performance a ‘safe’ performance.
