Tawag Ng Tanghalan Dec 8 Episode: Froilan Canlas Goes For His 9th Win

POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG RECAP: On yestersday’s episode, Froilan Canlas won over Wednesday daily winner Noel Eneria from Makati. He got his eighth win earning P 210,000. If Froilan gets two more wins, he becomes a Hall of Famer of  Tawag Ng Tanghalan sa Showtime.

First contender on stage was Jean Avenilla from Quezon City. Jean is visually impaired since she was 3 months. Despite her condition, she finished Business Administration. Meantime, Jean helps her mom sell ‘turon’ and does massage therapy on the side while on the hunt for a job. She sang “On the Wings of Love” hoping to impress the judges. Hurado Karylle said her voice was like an angel and that she was very inspiring. Hurado Yeng liked her diction and most especially how effortless she was in her performance.

Charmine Monternel from Cebu was next to grace the stage. Charmine is a band vocalist and travels a lot for her work. She loves singing and according to her it is her top priority. Charmine had a boyfriend who was a bit jealous. He didn’t want her using make up so much and was a bit conservative. Eventually, they broke up because of their differences. Charmine is now single and she believes that someday she will find her true love. She sang “Halik” by Aegis.

Hurado Rey Valera said “Melai” este Charmine (Melai referring to Melai from PBB since they had a slight resemblance) gave a very good performance. He liked her voice control and how she was able to modulate well.

Arnel Nadonza from Cagayan de Oro was last on stage. Arnel’s voice is very deep and is more of the low range. He sang “Hiwaga ng Pagibig” by Bing Rodrigo to impress the judges. Hurado Mitoy said his voice was really like Bing Rodrigo, very deep and full. Hurado Nyoy said he was very ready and that he is very refined in his singing.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan December 8 Champion, Thursday Daily Winner

Arnel Nadonza from Mindanao is Thursday daily winner with an average score of 93.4 percent. Arnel sang “Sana’y Wala Ng Wakas” to battle 8-time defending champion, Froilan Canlas. Froilan sang “Hindi Kita Malilimutan” to try to get his ninth win.

Garnering an average score of 94.6 percent, Arnel Naddonza wins the battle round. Froilan Canlas ends his eighth win with P 220,000 but will be back for the semi finals.
