Tawag Ng Tanghalan Feb. 15 Contenders and Performances

First on stage was contender from Pasig City, Fe Garcia. Lola Fe looks up to singers like Sharon Cuneta and the Aegis. She’s been covering their songs and posting them on the internet and soon enough became viral on the internet even at the age of 57 years old. She then joined one of the most famous reality shows, Asia’s Got Talent but wasn’t able to get all three yeses from the judges. Lola Fe sang “Halik” on the show and even sang a few lines of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” with Anne Curtis.

After Lola Fe’s performance, Hurado Karla Estrada and Erik Santos liked her performance. Karla said she started a bit weak but ended strong while Erik said he hight notes were good but her low register notes were a bit weak.

Jefferson Solares from Cavite was the next contender. This 29-year-old  Grade 9 teacher joined Tawag Ng Tanghalan once before and got great comments from the hurados then. He now sings “To Where You Are” also sang by Josh Groban with the support of his students, family, and friends who encouraged him to join the show again.

Hurado Rey described his voice gentle, cool and clean and noticed how powerful his vocal riffs were. Overall, Jefferson gave a great performance.

Last on stage was contender from Basilan, Epigil Moleje. Epigil used to work as a care taker for the house of the Prince of Riyadh. When he came home to the Philippines, this 44-year-old made sure he and his family would be secure by putting up a rubber farm. This rubber farm puts their two children to school. Epigil now pursues a dream he’s had for so long: sing on the stage of Tawag Ng Tanghalan. Epigil sang Basil Valdez’s song, “Paano Ba Ang Mangarap.”

Song choice was something that hurado Jaya appreciated since not a lot of contestants sing OPM songs on the show. She also saw Epigil’s confidence on stage and advised him to relax more if he makes it to the next round. Hurado Nyoy liked how Epigil was “lost in the moment” when he was performing.
