POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG/RECAP: Tawag Ng Tanghalan Feb. 28 episode is the Utlimate Resbak Day 2. Today, Dominador Alviola Jr., Andrey Magada, Christopher Mendrez and Antonio Zabalza fight for a place in the Grand Finals.

Yesterday, Jex De Castro secured his place on Friday’s battle based on hurados and madlang people’s votes. He was declared as the first Ultimate Resbaker this week. Jex will return on Friday to battle other ultimate resbakers and finally try to get into the Grand Finals. Click here to read a recap of yesterday’s episode.

Tawag ng Tanghalan, How to Vote

The hurados are not the only one who can judge ultimate resbaker’s performances. Fans could also vote for their favorite performers by simply texting TAWAG plus the name of their favorite semi-finalist (i.e TAWAG JULIA) and send to 2366. Voting will be open after their performances and will close before the announcement today.

Antonio Sabalza Sings ‘Mac Arthur Park’

Antonio Sabalza was the first on stage. Antonio is from Quarter 3. Tatay Antonio was remembered for his interpretation of “Wonderful World” and now he comes back on the show singing a Frank Sinatra hit, “Mac Arthur Park.”

Hurado Yeng says Antonio had the three Cs: charm, confidence and class. She also said his grade isn’t C at all, she gave him an A for a great performance.

Rakista Christofer Mendrez sings Def Leppard hit

Christofer Mendrez didn’t expect hurados to love his rakista voice. He was a bit insecure because he wasn’t a “biritero” like other contenders. It was his father who pushed him and inspired him. He now sings “When Love and Hate Collide.”

Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis sais Christofer had one of the most unique voices in the competition. Hurado Billy says Christofer sings effortlessly and gives him three Rs: range, radical and remarkable. Great vocal range, radical and remarkable voice.

Andre Magada returns and sings ‘Don’t You Remember’

After Quarter two semi-finals, Andre went back to Boracay and felt a bit frustrated that he wasn’t recognized. But when he went to Bacolod, he was surprised to find a lot supporters. Andre dreams to be seen on TV and heard on the radio. He now sings Luther Vandross’ hit, “Don’t You Remember.” It seems he was well rested because he was able to give a performance that surely entertained the audience.

Hurado K Brosas gave Andre three Ks: kakainggit, karapatdapat, and kaluluwa. The hurados really envied him for how good he sang, karapatdapat because he deserves to be back on the show and kaluluwa because he gave a soulful performance.

Dominador Alviola sings ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’

Dominador Aviola or Daddy D is back on the show singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” which was also interpreted by Elvis Presley once before. After Quarter 1 semi-finals, Daddy D was able to put up a small internet cafe which. He joined “We Love OPM” with his group Tres Kantos in 2016 and won as the grand winner.

Hurado Jaya gave him three 4Ds: digmaan, “dis is it!,” dapper which means neat, dagger, distinct and “da best.”Digmaan because he was ready for today’s battle, “Dis is it” because the moment he stood on stage he was ready. Dapper because Dominador was very precise and clean with his notes, dagger because his performance pierced through her heart and the last, “da best” because he gave his best.

Punong hurado Rey Valera said today’s resbak was very Nostalgic and felt like it was a reunion. Melancholic and heart-warming as well.

In a few minutes ultimate resbaker for today will be announced.

3Ks: Hurado K Brosas, Karylle, and Kayla ala Dream Girls

Before the announcement of today’s ultimate resbaker, Hurado K brosas, Karylle and Kayla sang a medley of “Urong Sulong,” “Mr Cupido,” and “Kapag Tumibok ang Puso” ala “Dream Girls” style with maching pink dresses and headbands.

Indeed three Ks nailed it!

Feb 28 Ultimate Resbaker is Dominador Alviola

Checked and verified by ABS-CBN audit, the graph showed the total number of votes from the madlang people and hurados namely:93.50 percent, 67.05 percent, 49.86 percent, 47.97 percent.

Rey Valete of ABS-CBN audit gave the envelope which contains the name of the ultimate resbaker who got the highest votes. And today’s ultimate resbaker is- Dominador Alviola. Dominador won a total score of 93.50 percent.

It was later revealed through the graph that Dominador won the text votes but it was Andre Magada who won the hurados votes. The hurados total for Dominador is 43.50 percent while Andre’s hurados votes was 49.30 percent.
