Adelene needs three more wins to get into the semi-finals. Will she get her third win today? Or will the new daily winner grab the “golden mikropono” from her? Tawag ng Tanghalan Feb. 2 Performances Resbaker at mga first sumabak sa mga singing contests ang sasalang ngayon sa Tanghalan! Sino ang mas mananaig? #ShowtimePumaFebibig pic.twitter.com/tx5Yg07hel — Tawag Ng Tanghalan (@TNTABSCBN) February 3, 2017 First contender on stage was Amme Faith Mena. This seventeen-year-old ‘resbaker’ from Caloocan City joined Tawag Ng Tanghalan in August last year. Her weak point then was her song choice according to the hurados. Now, she comes back singing a song with a different genre, Miley Cyrus’ hit, “When I look at You.” Unfortunately, Amme wasn’t able to start the song right and couldn’t get the right key. Hurado Ogie had to signal for the gong. Amme is automatically disqualified from the show. Sapphire De La Pena from Bacolod was next to impress the hurados. Sapphire is twenty one years old. She takes after her father who is also a singer. When Sapphire joined her first singing contest in her school, the University of Saint La Salle, it gave her a scholarship to finish BS Psychology. She sings for hotels part time to help out in the family. Sapphire sang “Di Na Natuto” hoping to win as today’s daily winner. “Ang gara” were the words punong hurado Ogie Alcasid used to describe Sapphire’s voice. He also said she was capable of more things and even called her an “amazing singer.” Last on stage was Jeffry Julian, contender from Zamboanga. Thirty-four-year-old Jeffry is an all-around bread winner of the family. He is an operation supervisor for a hotel and catering service, make-up artist, host, hair dresser and on top of everything else, a voice teacher. Being a voice teacher helped him finish his studies when he was in college. Jeffry sang “I Will Be Here” to challenge himself and prove to himself that he has what it takes to join a singing contest like this. Hurado Jaya and the other judges noticed he was a bit nervous when he started but he had the vocal control to give a good performance. Tawag Ng Tangahalan Feb. 3 Champion Today’s hurados “FEBorite” is Sapphire De La Pena garnering an average score of 92.2 percent. Sapphire sang “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” for the face-off. Defending champion Adelene Rabulan battled Sapphire with the song “A House is not A Home.” Today’s battle is a close fight as both singers have almost the same style and vocal range. Who wins the hurados hearts today? Today’s champion is Adelene Rabulan with an average score of 94.2 percent. Adelene’s now has P 85,000 as she gets her third win. Tawag Ng Tanghalan airs Mondays to Saturdays on ABS-CBN at noon. Facebook Comments
