Today, Adelene fights for her fifth win and when she takes it, Adelene will become part of Tawag Ng Tanghalan’s semi-finals.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Feb. 6 Performances

Alisah Bonaobra from Paco, Manila was first to take the stage. Alisah had to stop school because of financial problems. She and her family sell ‘lutong ulam’ in the market for a living. Alisah also usually joined singing competitions on TV like “The Voice,” but has never won any of them. Winning Tawag Ng Tanghalan would mean going back to school for Alisah. Joining competitions again and again will not stop her as she said she was inspired by Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach’s story.  She sang “Maghintay Ka Lamang” hoping to win the hurados hearts. Hurado Mitoy loved the fact that Alisah used her natural voice throughout the whole song. Vocal control and technique, on the other hand, was something that hurado Kayla commended and even called her one of her favorites.

Thirty-eight-year-old Roland “Bunot” Abante from Cebu was the next on stage. Roland is a fisherman and a singer of course. His talent has brought him fame online and eventually brought him to Gandang Gabi Vice, a duet with Gary V and Arnel Pineda on ASAP and even caught the attention of TV host Ellen DeGeneres. Roland sang “To Love Somebody” for the hurados and fight for that spot as today’s daily winner. Punong hurado Rey Valera said it was rare to find performers like Roland. It was effortless for him to catch the attention of the audience even with his body movements alone.

Last contender for the day was forty-eight-year-old Raul Tubil from Zamboanga del Norte. Raul loves music. It is his life and has become his bread and butter. He plays the keyboard and guitar, teaches music to elementary students, the school choir and also performs with his band. His wife fell in love with his voice and is happily married to Raul for 22 years. Raul sang “I’ll Never Say Goodbye.” Clarity and deep voice were the two things hurado Yeng loved with Raul’s performance and said it will be a tough decision for the hurados since all of the contenders did a great job.

Hurados have a tough decision to make. Today’s contenders were all very challenging and each of them gave their best. It was down to one as the hurados chose today’s winner. Roland “Bunot” Abante is today’s daily winner garnering an average score of 94 percent. For the face-off, Roland sang Michael Bolton’s hit “Said I Love You But I Lied” hoping to grab the “golden mikropono” from defending champion Adelene Rabulan. The hurados have spoken, today’s winner is — Roland “Bunot” Abante with an average score of 93.8 percent. Adelene wasn’t able to grab her fifth win today but will take home P 120,000.
