Stephanie joined Tawag Ng Tanghaln last year. She sang “Straight from the Heart” and wasn’t able to win because of that last note she missed to sing at the end. Now, she comes back and sings the same song. It seems as if she came back to redeem herself from her last performance. Stephanie owns a bar and has three kids who are in Australia. Hurado Billy loved Stephanie’s husky rocker voice while Yeng was happy she was able to redeem herself. Hurado Rey Valera said he didn’t have any plans of sounding the gong on her because she became one of his favorites. Sixteen-year-old Ma. Noelle Salcedo from Iloilo was next. Noelle dreams of performing on TV since she was six years old. She is a ‘resbaker’ who joined Tawag Ng Tanghalan in January last year. Noelle sang “Tagumpay Nating Lahat” then and remembers Rey Valera saying her voice didn’t match her song. She now comes back singing “Jar of Hearts” hoping her song choice would make her a winner this time. Hurado Rey Valera liked the fact that Noelle listened to his advice and how she came back doing exactly what he asked her to do then. Last contender was Ronaldo Cañete from Misamis Occidental. Ronaldo is a 57-year-old farmer but his real bread and butter is joining and winning singing contests. Because of his talent, he was able to put up a house and put his three kids to school. Voice quality was something that hurado Erik and Ogie loved. They also noticed how confident he was on stage. Tawag Ng Tanghalan Feb. 9 Champion Among all three contenders, the hurados chose Stephanie Buena as today’s daily winner garnering an average score of 92.4 percent. Stephanie will battle 2-time defending champion Jex De Castro. For the battles, Stephanie sang “Nosi Balasi” hoping to get the “golden mikropono” from Jex De Castro. Jex sang “Take Me Out Of The Dark” hoping to keep his place as defending champion. The Tawag Ng Tanghalan’s defending champion is– Jex De Castro garnering an average score of 94.4 percent. This is Jex’s third win on the show. Facebook Comments
