Tawag Ng Tanghalan Jan 19 Performances

Twenty-three Ron Kenneth Adet from Las Pinas was the first contender on stage. Ron is the eldest of four. He has a three-year-old daughter who he hasn’t seen in awhile because Ron and his girlfriend are separated . Their family have been living without electricity for 8 years now. Thanks to solar panel they are able to have a source of light.

Ron joined Tawag Ng Tanghalan and sang “Careless Whisper” hoping to win and give a better life for his daughter and have their electricity reconnected at last. Hurado Karylle loved him and his performance but said Ron had to be more confident. Song was a bold choice as hurado Jaya said it was a challenging song.

Sherwin Celis from Batangas was next to take the stage. Sherwin is just fifteen years old and at a young age his family already supports him in reaching his dream to become a famous singer someday. Sherwin helps the bakery business with his family which is owned by his aunt. Sherwin chose to sing the song “Hindi Na Bale” by Jessa Zaragoza hoping to impress the judges. A good singer indeed says Hurado Ogie. He said Sherwin does not need to push so much to make his voice full and round, it will naturally come out.

Last contender of the day, Rose Marie Patrimonio from Cebu. Rose is a full-time mom at twenty years old. She and her partner have a one-year-old daughter. Rose joined Tawa Ng Tanghalan hoping to finish her studies, add to the medication of her mother-in-law who has a kidney problem and of course give a better future for her daughter.

Rose performed Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You.” Hurado Yeng said hurado Ogie was about to signal for the gong because of her sharp and flat notes but though it was just because she was too excited. Hurado Mitoy on the other hand said Rose just needed to be more focused in performing next time.
