First contender of the day was ‘resbaker’ Julienne Mora from Quezon City. Julienne lost during the live show in September and comes back stronger singing “I Would Do Anything For Love.” Twenty-one-year-old Julienne and her boyfriend have a child together but do not live together because of financial reasons. She hopes to win the competition so that she and her boyfriend could finally get married and stay together in one home. Hurado Karylle and Erik Santos liked Julienne’s voice but got distracted because Julienne seemed detached to the audience and her song and wasn’t able to establish that connection.
Forty-Four-year-old Maria Magdalena “Mads” Mon from Baguio City was the next contender. Mads is a single mom and has two daughters. One of them is already a Pastor and the other, still a child. Mads tried working as a call center agent, insurance agent and hotel receptionist to provide for her family. Now she sings for events and sells and delivers bacon on the side to have additional income. Mads sang “Dito Ba” by Kuh Ledesma. “I liked it” says hurado Louie Ocampo saying it would have been better if her vibratos weren’t too much.
Patricia Anne Valena from Cebu was the last contender for the day. Patricia has a lot in her hands. After graduating BS Psychology, she became a freelance singer and online English teacher while managing her online business. Patricia dreams of becoming a lawyer someday. She sang “Starting Over Again” by Natalie Cole. Hurado Jaya was very impressed with Patricia’s jazzy voice and song choice but hoped that the last note was as good as the first few notes.
