Joylaine beat every single daily winner since she won as daily winner and defending champion on January 18. She finally made it to the semi-finals when she got her fifth win on January 23. On yesterday’s episode, Joylaine got her seventh win and now tries to get her eighth win. Will Joylaine beat today’s daily winner? Francis is thirty seven years old. He is an operating nurse in Makati and is out to give back. He is a part of an international and local organization named Operations Smile that helps patients who have cleft lip or hair lip. Francis joined win Tawag Ng Tanghalan hoping to give what he wins to help more patients. “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes” was Francis’ contest piece. Hurado Mitoy said he gave a quite weak start but over all gave a good performance. Next contender was fifteen-year-old Gayle Torrado from La Trinidad, Benguet. Since Gayle was nine, she has been joining amateur contests. She dreams on becoming a well known singer someday. To reach that, she chose to be home-schooled to give balance to her studies and her dream. She joined Tawag Ng Tanghalan and sang “Looking Through Your Eyes” as a stepping stone to reach her dreams and help her youngest sibling who has a heart problem. Hurado Ogie said Gayle had a good voice but said she gave a bit more flat notes. This may be because Gayle was too focused on her movements rather than her singing. Thirty-three-year-old Lendon Zuniga from Dumaguete was the last to take the stage. Lendon has been working as a family driver and caretaker for his employer for years now. There he met his wife of ten years. Up to now, they don’t have kids yet which could be due to an operation he had before. Lendon took the stage and sang “Kastilyong Buhangin” giving his best for his wife and future child. For the battles, Lendon sang “I Know” by Tom Jones. Semi-finalist Joylaine chose a more modern vibe singing Yeng Constantino’s “Ikaw.”If Joylaine gets her eighth win today, she takes home P 210,000.
