POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG/RECAP: On yesterday’s Tawag Ng Tanghalan episode, defending champion Crismille Vallente got her second win beating daily winner Elysa Villareal with an average score of 92.2 percent. Today, Crismille goes for her third win as she fights for a place in Tawag Ng Tanghalan’s semi-finals.

Eighteen-year-old ‘resbaker’ Regine Delina Reyno from Makati was first to take the stage. Regine joined Tawag Ng Tanghalan On August 17 and wasn’t able to make beat the defending champion then. She comes back singing “I Can Make It Through The Rain” hoping to reach her dream of becoming a famous singer.  Regine and her brother are an acoustic duo and since she joined the show they’ve had more gigs. Judge Jaya said Regine had a certain glow, her voice was powerful but felt that Regine was too excited which affected her performance.

Balayan, Batangas representative Caroline Albis was the next contender. Caroline is twenty six years and is married with one baby girl. She works as a cashier while her husband works as a promodizer. Caroline also manages her online shop and also works as a freelance singer. Caroline sang “Bakit Ako Mahihiya” by Pilita Corales. Head judge Yeng loved her originality and her powerful voice.

Last contender was Arsemio Adlawan Jr. from Cebu. Arsemio has been joining amateur singing contests ever since he was young. At 61, he still has the energy to join singing contests which serves a source of living for him and his partner who he has been with for years now. Arsemio sang “Love is A Many Splendored Thing” hoping to impress the judges. “Nakakaaliw” is what judge Billy used to describe Arsemio’s performance. He also said he noticed how Arsemio was very much trained and acknowledged his fifty-five years of singing.

Today’s daily winner is representative from Visayas, Arsemio Adlawan Jr. garnering an average score of 92.6 percent. Arsemio chose “Hanggang sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan” for the face-off. Defending champion Crismille Valiente, on the other hand, sang “Ikaw Ang Aking Pangarap” hoping to keep her place.

The judges have made their decision and today’s champion is — Crismille Valiente with an average score of 94.8 percent. This is Crismille’s third win on the show.
