POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG/RECAP: Two-time defending champion Larry Marmol proves that dreams can be reached regardless of age. On Tawag Ng Tanghalan July 12 episode, Larry fights for his second win. First contender, John Patrick Cansanay. Like father like son. John’s father is a singer who used to sing for hotels and bars. John now follows his footsteps and wants to use his talent to propel him to reach his dreams of becoming an architect someday. He would also want to help out his mom and dad’s sari-sari store if he wins. John sang “Your Love” by Alamid hoping that Judge Rey would not signal for the gong.

Judge Erik did like John’s voice but noticed how nervous John was on stage. John said it was his first time to join a singing contest so Erik said he had to learn to loosen up. Judge Mitoy liked John’s low register and gave him tips on how he can practice his stage presence.

Second contender, Nabela Gudito. Insurance agent and single mom from Bohol tries her best to make ends meet. The love for her mom and only daughter is what drives her to create a better future for her family. Nabela takes the TNT stage singing “Your Song” by Elton John.

The judges seem to enjoy Nabela’s performance as they were all on their feet right before she ended her song to give a standing ovation. Judge Rey Valera was thoroughly impressed with Nabela’s performance and called it breathtaking.

Third contender, Dee Ann Siarez. Dee Ann from Davao del Norte has gone through tough times. She’s supposed to be a third year Mass Communication student but instead had to work. Her parents separated for four years. Soon her mom got sick with Polio so she had to stop working to take care of her. The family’s sari-sari store is what helps them get by. Now, things are getting better. Her parents recently reunited so she now has more motivation singing “Dito Ba” by Kuh Ledesma.

Confidence was so evident says Judge Karylle and said Dee Ann was on a diva level. Projection was really good and it was really obvious that she was used to singing on stage says Judge Nyoy.

TNT July 12 daily winner, face-off, and champion. Tawag Ng Tanghalan July 12 daily winner is Nabela Gudito winning with an average score of 95.6 percent.

Now for the face-off. daily winner Nabela sang “Scarborough Fair” by Simon & Garfunke. A great song choice indeed one not usually sang on the TNT stage. Two-time defending champion Larry Marmol, on the other hand, sang “Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal,” an OPM classic.

The judges have come to a decision. Tawag Ng Tanghalan July 12 champion garnering an average score of 95.4 percent is Nabela Gudito. Nabela is the new TNT defending champion.
