POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG/RECAP: Aerone Mendoza just grabbed his second win on yesterday’s episode as he faced daily winner John Lacno. Click here to read a recap of July 17 episode. On Tawag Ng Tanghalan July 18 episode, Aerone will try to get his third win. Will he be successful in getting that win today? Or will he meet his match?

Tawag Ng Tanghalan July 18 performances, daily winner, and champion

First contender, Roger “Star” Aquino. Star comes from a large family of eleven. He is the breadwinner and works as a free lance makeup artist, singer, and event host. Star from Pampanga has been dreaming of becoming a famous singer ever since he was a kid. Now, he takes the TNT stage hoping to make that happen by singing “Wala Kang Katulad.”

Judge Karylle liked Star’s powerful voice but thought it lacked something else that would make it better. Judge Nyoy, on the other hand, agreed with Karylle and said he had everything but lacked something else. Probably it was his sincerity in relaying the message of his song.

Second contender, Marloue Mahumot. Marloue’s father passed away when he was just 15. It was his mom who took care of him and his sister. With the hard work of his mom, Marloue finished school and is now a teacher as well. He now takes the stage and sang “Kahit Kailan” by South Border hoping that this opportunity would give him the chance to put up a house for his family.

Head judge Gary Valenciano said he enjoyed Marloue’s performance saying it wasn’t perfect but he had passion.

Third contender, Aila Santos. Music and love for family is what makes Aila’s life beautiful. She’s been a band vocalist for 10 years now and is the bandmate of Jay-R Gonzaga who joined TNT recently. Aila is living with their guitarist and now have two kids together. They both dream of putting up a business and they hope joining TNT  will be a way for them to do it. Aila sang “For The Very First Time” by Roxette. Her performance seem to impress the judges.

Judge Jaya was very impressed with Aila’s performance saying she really delivered. She added how all the judges were very impressed as well. Judge Jed Madela said Aila’s years of experience paid off and loved how her voice had that attitude and raspiness.

TNT July 18 daily winner, face-off, and champion. Today’s daily winner with an average score of 94 percent is Aila Santos.

Daily winner Aila Santos sang “Against All Odds” while two-time defending champion Aerone Mendoza sang “Walang Kapalit” by Piolo Pascual for the face-off.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan July 18 champion is new defending champion Aila Santos garnering an average score of 94.6 percent.
