TNT June 14 Performances, face-off, daily winner, and champion
First contender, Ariel Talion. Ariel from Paranaque spent his years working and pursuing his passion. He has been a service driver for 15 years and has been joining singing contests for 46 years. As long as he has the strength and the voice to do both, nothing will stop him. Because of his hard work in both, he was able to put up a sari-sari store, a small karinderya, and put his only daughter to school. The love and passion he has for his family is the same love that exudes in his singing. He performed “Wild Flower” by Skylark.
Judge Jolina called Ariel’s performance “groovy” and said he looked really entertaining on stage. Classic and professional says Judge Billy Crawford.
Second contender, Daryl Gariando. Daryl from Tacloban was thrilled to get a call back from Tawag Ng Tanghalan after being rejected by so many contests throughout the years. For her, this is her time. She and her husband work for government agencies in different locations but take the time to perform in gigs on weekends. Daryl chose to sing Regine Velasquez’s song “Buhay Ng Buhay Ko” hoping that the judges would feel the love she has for music.
Judge Rey Valera noticed how nervous Daryl was when she started. He understood a bit why that was knowing her background and experience. Rey said it was because she didn’t have the confidence in herself and advised her to try her very best and start strong next time.
Third contender, Clayton John Magnanao. Contender from Davao City is the son of a singer. Although Clayton and his dad knew at a later time that he can sing, Clayton knew since then that he wanted to be just like his dad. At six he learned how to play the beatbox and at 14 he started singing. He now takes the stage of TNT singing “Hahanapin Ko” by Anthony Castelo hoping to continue the race of his father. Clayton sang the first few notes with his deep powerful voice and was able to sing a few more but unfortunately, Rey Valera signaled for the gong.
Judge Rey said he was too nervous that he had off notes from the beginning. He gave Clayton another chance but Rey said it was not enough. Judge Jaya and Kayla said he had a very good voice but was too nervous to execute the notes well. Kayla said this wasn’t the end but just the beginning of his journey as a singer. TNT was his stepping stone. Unfortunately, Clayton is automatically out of the competition.
