Three contenders fought for a chance to beat him but it was daily winner Macmac Dequina who succeeded. Macmac tried to overthrow Joel during the face-off but it seems it wasn’t Macmac’s time yet. This singer from Luzon used to be in a band called Voice Town. He and his band were about to release their album but disbanded before it could happen. Interestingly In 2003, he was able to compete with Judge Erik Santos in the hit ABS-CBN TV show “Star in a Million” Season 1. Judge Jaya felt he was a bit nervous and this affected his performance. She sang Imelda Papin’s “Bakit Ikaw Pa.” Head Judge Rey Valera called Cristie a veteran and loved how calm she was on stage while performing. Third contender, MacMac Dequina. This singer from Bacolod has high hopes for himself and his two children, Faith and Hope. MacMac is part of a band and they play 5 nights a week. He is also a solo performer and plays the keyboard and the guitar. He is also a composer and he dreams of having his own album someday. MacMac’s motivation and inspiration are his two angels and hopes that his singing career can put his two angels to school until they graduate college. “Baby, I Love Your Way” was MacMac’s piece hoping that this reggae groove would put him through the face-off. “You sound what you mean” says Judge Kayla. Good sense of rythmn, voice quality, and song choice. Judge Jed Madela agreed with Kayla and said he had a unique and interesting contest piece. He liked how Mac Mac performed not just to impress but to also entertain. He loved how fresh his voice was to the ears. TNT June 19 daily winner, face-off, and champion. Judge Rey Valera didn’t sound the gong for anyone on this episode.Three contenders and it was then down to one. The judges have decided that daily winner with an average score of 90.6 percent is Mac Mac Dequina. The battle is on. MacMac channeled Lionel Richie and sang “Stuck On You.” Defending champion Joel Delalamon, on the other hand, sang “I Believe” Elvis Presley style. The moment of truth. The champion of Tawag ng Tanghalan June 19 episode garnering an average score of 95 percent is Joel Delalamon. This is Joel’s second win on the show.
