TNT June 29 performances, daily winner, and champion First contender, Liezel Quiachon. Liezel from Bohol wants to follow the footsteps of her sister who joined TNT on exactly the same day last year. She also dreams of finishing her studies like her big sister through a scholarship. Unfortunately, Liezel wasn’t able to get a scholarship. She had to stop school due to financial reasons and worked as a call center agent full time. Liezel writes her own destiny singing “Break It To Me Gently” by Angela Bofill. She sang with much emotion hoping to make her and her sister’s dream a reality. Judge Jaya liked the quality of Liezel’s voice and said she was impressed. She started strong but became nervous from the middle to the end of the song. Judge Rey agreed with Jaya saying it did affect her performance a bit. Second contender, Julius Perida. Julius sings for the future of his family. Originally from Lopez, Quezon, this singer from Caloocan is a maker of perfumes with his wife. They both have their own brand and sell them online or through friends. Interestingly enough, his wife also joined TNT once before. He now takes the stage piping the tunes of “In Your Eyes” by George Benson. Judge Karylle noticed Julius wasn’t that in sync with the band. But when she observed a bit more, she was able to see he was able to pick himself up towards the end. Third contender, Jonia Lising. Jonia took on The Stylistics “Betcha By Golly, Wow.” This singer born in Pampanga has been singing since she was just five years old. She and her family migrated to the US in 2005 and is back for a vacation. Apart from singing, Jonia loves dancing, drawing and is into photography. She dreams of putting up her own creative studio someday. Jonia thinks it is her time to pursue her dreams of becoming a famous singer someday. Judge Rey Valera seemed uneasy while Jonia was performing. True enough, he signaled for the gong. When asked why, Rey said he heard a lot of flat notes and had to ask the other judges if they heard the same. Judge Ogie said Jonia had a slow start but loved the texture and quality of her voice. He advised her to be a bit more relaxed on stage next time. Unfortunately, Jonia is automatically disqualified. Fourth contender, Ivy Grace Paredes. This is not Ivy Grace’s first rodeo. This single mom from Bukidnon has been singing since she was nine. She’s joined a lot of amateur contests and eventually was given a chance to join an international contest, The X Factor UK. Her stay in Dubai has given her that blessing and the blessing of her child. Ivy took on Whitney Houston and sang “Run To You.” “Save the best for last,” says Judge KBrosas. She thanked Ivy for gracing the TNT stage. Judge Rey loved Ivy’s performance and said, “Welcome home.” Whether home is the Philippines or the TNT stage, Ivy nailed her performance.
