POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG: On Tawag Ng Tanghalan June 30, new defending champion Ivy Grace Paredes fights for her second win. Ivy has joined numerous singing contests before including The X Factor UK. However, due to some issues, she was forced to back out from the show. Yesterday, she Ivy three other contenders and won an average score of 95.6 percent singing “Run To You.” Click here to read a recap of yesterday’s episode. Will Ivy get her second win? Or will she meet her match today?

TNT June 30 performances, daily winner, and champion

First contender, Abigail Macaranas. Abigail sings for her grandmother who passed on and joined TNT hoping to raise what they need for her grandfather’s eye operation. This singer from Metro Manila comes from a family of musicians. Her dad is a music teacher while her mom is an English teacher who can sing as well. Aside from singing, Abigail can play the piano, flute, and the guitar. “How Do I Live” was Abigail’s contest piece for today.

“Fit to perfection,” says Judge Karylle. She added how great it was that Abigail knew her voice really well that it wasn’t hard to execute her notes and vocal riffs. Judge Mitoy commended her for singing the song well considering the song was very special to her and her grandmother.

Second contender, Manny Lucas. Manny believes that age and status in life do not matter in reaching dreams. He takes the TNT stage singing “My Love Will See You Through” motivated by the love for his family. He used to join singing contests before he became a security guard taking the night shift. It seems Manny hasn’t lost his touch when it comes to singing.

Head judge Rey Valera said, “Iba ka.” He thinks the crowd agrees if he said Manny is today’s champion. And indeed, the crowd said yes. Will he become today’s daily winner?

Third contender, Isabel Bildan. Lola’s girl, Isabel, dreams of becoming a policewoman someday. Things took a different turn when she got pregnant and became a single mom. Isabel had to stop school to take care of her baby  Now, she fights for a better future for her, her child, and her grandmother by singing “Iisa Pa Lamang” on the TNT stage.

Judge Jaya loved how Isabel was able to relay the emotion of the song and how she owned it. Isabel had the power and tone says Judge Ogie.

TNT June 30 daily winner, face-off, champion. Abigail, Manny, and Isabel gave their best shot on the TNT stage. But there can only be one daily winner. The scores reveal that among three contenders, Manny Lucas proved to be the best getting an average score of 92.6 percent. Abigail came second, and then Isabel.

For the face-off, Manny Lucas sang “You’re My World.” Judge Rey Valera seemed to enjoy Manny’s performance as he swayed to the beat of the song. Defending champion Ivy Grace Paredes, on the other hand, sang took on a Whitney Houston singing “One Moment In Time.” Ivy had a bit of mix up with her lyrics but was able to pull through.

On to the reveal of today’s champion. It seems it’s a tough one for the judges. Impressive performances by two contenders but the judges have made their decision. Today’s champion with an average score of 95 percent is Manny Lucas.
