Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids April 4 Performances, Juvylyn Bison sings Note To God
First on stage was Juvylyn Bison.This 11-year-old follows the footsteps of her father when it comes to singing. She sang “Note To God” by Charice Pempengco hoping to impress the judges. Judge Yeng Constantino liked Juvylyn’s song choice and fit her voice,
Judge Yeng Constantino liked Juvylyn’s song choice and says it fit the texture of her voice. She noticed how nervous Juvylyn was on stage and advised her to join more contests for practice. Judge Nyoy said she just needed to put more emotion to her performance.
Alexandra Kate Sodela sings Angeline Quinto hit
Next on stage was Alexandra Kate Sodela. This 8-year-old from Oriental Mindoro dreams of becoming a singing stewardess someday. Her father is a soldier based in Tanay Rizal. Both parents give their full support to Alexandra. Kate sang “Hulog Ng Langit” by Angeline Quinto.
Judge Louie Ocampo said the texture of Alexandra’s voice was a bit thin but she was able to use it to her advantage. He thinks she could be a charming singing stewardess and told her to practice and practice to improve more.
Jayne Balinas sings Donna Cruz
Ten-year-old Jayne Balinas from Iloilo was the next contender. This little girl is used to joining singing contests. Before going on stage, Jayne makes sure to take a selfie. She joined Tawag Ng Tanghalan hoping to win of course, but most especially to take a selfie with TNT hosts. Jayne channeled Donna Cruz singing “Mukha Ng Buhay.” On a side note, Jayne did get her wish: a selfie with TNT hosts.
Judge Kayla appreciated Jayne’s diction and said song choice was perfect for her voice. She also liked how Jayne hits her high notes but noticed how her voice weakened towards the last notes of the song.
Nico Tiu sings One Call Away
Last contender was contender from Davao, Derick Nico Tiu. Nico is such an example for young kids out there. He is already has a name for himself in Davao but at home, he does his chores and helps his father in their rent-a-van business. For today’s contest, Nico sang “One Call Away” by Charlie Puth.
Judge Louie Ocampo commented on Nico’s performance saying he had the voice, stage presence, and charm. Although his performance wasn’t that clean, he was able to entertain everyone in the studio.
