POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG: It is the Semi-finals week! On Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids June 5 episode, the first batch of semi-finalists will fight for the title of the first ever TNT Kids champion. A total of nine semi-finalists have made the cut and will now battle against each other. On June 3, Saturday, John Ramirez won over five other kiddie resbakers during the Ultimate Kiddie Resbaker battle. He was the latest addition to the roster of semi-finalists.

During the Ultimate Resbak Day on Saturday, six kiddie resbakers fought for a final chance to be in the semi-finals. Reign Curthney Basa got an average score of 92.4 percent singing “Listen.” John Carlo Tan sang “Help” and got a score of 94.7 percent. Trixie May San Roque, on the other hand, sang “Dakilang Lahi” and got 96.2 percent. Lift John Demonteverde got an average score of 89.6 percent singing “Ikaw Ang Pangarap.” Andre Tamura got 93.6 percent singing “Wild Flower.” Finally, John Ramirez, got the highest score,  97.2 percent singing “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.”

First contender, John Clyd Talili. This talented little resbaker from Mindanao sang the iconic Freddie Aguilar song that influenced the nation and even across from it. It was none other than Freddie’s “Anak.”

As the first performer, he sure set the benchmark for such an outstanding performance to kick off the first day of the semi-finals.

Second contender, Sheena Belarmino. Kiddie resbaker Sheena of Visayas certainly didn’t disappoint as the second performer. After winning four times in Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids, she’s a girl with a mission. Singing Katy Perry’s “Unconditionally”, she has gotten Twitter buzzing with her performance.

Third contender, Mackie Empuerto. Sweeping in with an amazingly strong voice for a small boy, little kiddie resbaker Mackie got the crowd glued to him. As a frequent participant in singing contests, he’s certainly gained his confidence. He sang Jennifer Hudson’s “And I Am Telling You, I’m Not Going To,” which earned a standing ovation from the judges.

Judge Louie Ocampo called him a ‘total package’ from his hand gestures, voice quality and conviction on stage. The Filipino composer also said that he is proof that ‘big voices come in small packages.’

Fourth contender, Shaina Mae Allaga. Shaina is a big fan of Mariah Carey, thus she sang her idol’s “Hero.” Her performance got everyone certainly hooked, especially Judge Jolina Magdangal. Judge Jolina compliments her voice quality– strong and full. She also commends this kiddie resbaker for singing her own version of the song.

Fifth contender, Keifer Sanchez. The last but definitely not the least TNT contestant vying for the the Ultimate Kiddie Resbaker Title is Keifer of Mindanao. He sang Sia’s “Chandelier” with real feeling and passion. Judge Yeng Constantino applauds his performance, saying it gave her the shivers. She also finds Keifer’s raspiness a distinct quality that differentiates him from the rest.

TNT Kids June 5 Semi-Finalist. After garnering an impressive  score of 99.30 %, the kiddie resbaker who will advance to the Grand Finals Day on June 10, Saturday, is Mackie Empuerto of Metro Manila.
