Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids June 6: Semi-Finals Day 2

POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG: The second day of Semi-finals week is happening on Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids June 6 episode. On yesterday’s episode, five contenders fought for a place on TNT Grand Finals on Saturday, June 10. Mackie Empuerto won over four other kiddie resbakers and earned his spot singing “And I Am Telling You, I’m Not Going To” garnering an average score of 99.30 percent. Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids June 6 performances, Semi-finals Day 2 winner

First contender, Sidro Quilicol. This Ogie Alcasid look-alike from Paranaque chose to sing “Nandito Ako” by none other than Ogie himself. He got great advice from judge Jed and Yeng before his performance. He took the stage and sang with much heart giving his best.

Judge Billy praised Sidro for how much he was in character while performing. “Animated” says Billy while Judge Erik said his voice improved the last time he was on TNT.

Second contender, Francis Concepcion. “Flashlight” by Jessie J was Francis’ song. He dedicates his song to his mom, Grace. Motivated by his family, he sang with much passion and reminded people how great of a performer he is as he proved earlier this month.

“Not perfect but really entertaining,” says judge Yeng Constantino. Yeng saw how nervous but excited he was now that the Grand Finals was just a few days away.

Third contender, John Jamiel Convicto. Jamiel’s dad says his voice is like international singer Bruno Mars. It was just but right for him to sing one of his hits, “Just The Way You Are.” Jamiel’s inspiration is his dad and he takes his advice when he said Jamiel should just give his best, just the way he was.

Kyla really enjoyed Jamiel’s performance and said he was indeed like his idol, Bruno Mars. He had high register, great timing, and was surprised that he can use his falsetto voice effectively. K Brosas also loved Jamiel’s soing choice, diction, and was very happy that he was able to showcase so much of his talent in just a few minutes on stage.

Fourth contender, John Ramirez. Tom Jones is one of John’s musical influences. He decided to take on something not that current and prove to everyone that he is a versatile singer and performer. John sang “Without Love” hoping that this move would take him to the grand finals.

Yeng loved John’s move to take on the challenge of singing an old school song. She said he proved he can sing both current and old songs and can do a good in both. He said John has a signature voice which he can use to his advantage.

TNT Kids June 6, Semi-finals day 2 winner. With the accumulated text votes and judges’ votes, it has been decided. Today’s winner garnering a total avergae score of 94.20 percent is– Francis Concepcion. Francis automatically advances to the Grand Finals.

Kiddie contenders who didn’t make it will still have the chance to fight for another chance on Wednesday and Thursday. Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids airs Mondays to Saturdays on ABS-CBN at noon.
