On yesterday’s episode, Justine won over ex-defending champion Bench Ivan Nicanor who won on Saturday. Justine’s winning song was “Defying Gravity” which earned him a score of 96.4 percent. The Queen of Soul gifted fans singing a medley of Anita Baker’s hit, “Sweet Love” and John Legend’s “Ordinary People.” Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids March 21 Performances, Precious Galves Rocks Jessie J Hit Precious Galves from Cubao, Quezon City was first on stage. This 10-year-old is the youngest in the family. Her older sisters Sandra and Lara are also singers and love music a lot. They call themselves the “Galves Sisters.” Their parents support their children when it comes to music. Precious sang “Mamma Knows Bet” by Jessie J giving that pop rock vibe wearing her natural full curls, glittery top and that Jessie J attitude as well. Judge Karylle commented on Precious’ performance saying song choice was challenging but she was able to hit every note which was difficult for a girl her age. Karylle called her fierce but advised her to make contact with the audience as well. Alicia Keys and Janet Jackson were the artists Jaya saw in Precious but still different. Exotic, Electrifying and Everything nice says Jaya. Lorraine Geronimo sings Aegis hit Next on stage was 11-year-old Lorraine Geronimo from Sto Tomas, Nueva Ecija. Lorraine helps her father raise chickens after school and house work. She got her singing talent from her father who also joins singing contests. Lorraine sang “Halik” by Aegis singing those high vocal riffs with that husky touch. Also, Lorraine sang a part of the song written by her father using Yeng Constantino’s tune of “Ikaw” about her mother. This touched the heart of Yeng and the judges. Judge Louie Ocampo said he liked the energy Lorraine had but advised her to take extra care whenever singing those high notes. Multi-talented Sheena Belarmino Sings Fight Song Eleven-year-old Sheena Belarmino from Cebu was the last contender of the day. Sheena described herself as super. Super in school, sports, dancing, theater and singing. She’s being trained for basketball and is lined up for a play and dance contest in Cebu. Jack of all trades indeed but she loves singing especially. Sheena also joined “Dance Kids” on ABS-CBN. For Sheena’s performance, she sang Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song.” Judge Yeng Constantino seemed to enjoy Sheena’s performance as she’s seen on her feet singing the tune with her. Yeng loved the natural swag in Sheena’s voice and her performance. Judge Jolina Magdangal, on the other hand, said she has a future in TV or in the entertainment industry.
