POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG: On Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids March 27 episode, four contenders will fight to become the next defending champion. On Saturday’s episode, Sheena Belarmino grabbed her fifth with garnering an average score of 96.6 percent. Sheena is now the second semi-finalist of Tawag TNT Kids joining first semi-finalist Jhon Clyd Talili. On a side note, today’s guest host is “Darna” herself, Angel Locsin.
Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids March 27 Performances, Lovern Sings The Greatest Love Of All
First on stage was Lovern Apa from Mandaluyong City. Eight-year-old Lovern loves singing and drawing and dreams of becoming the next big thing in showbiz. If not, she would like to try her luck as a stewardess someday. Her father works as a bodyguard while her mother sells “embotido” for a living. Lovern sang “The Greatest Love Of All” hoping to impress the judges.
Judge Yeng said Lovern has this “good girl” vibe and was amazed at how full her voice was at a young age. She advised Lovern to work on her low notes but all in all, she did a good job.
Larenz Pableo Sings Gary V hit
Next on stage was 12-year-old Larenz Pableo from Laguna. Larenz’s parents are both OFW workers so he grew up with his grandmother. His father is an Engineer in Kuwait while his mom works at a salon in Saudi. Needless to say, Larenz loves singing. His number one fan, his grandmother. Larenz sang “Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos.”
Angel Locsin sang on the show people! It was great to hear Darna sing a few lines. Judge Louie Ocampo was surprised to see such great sensitivity and vibrato hidden in Larenz’s voice. At first he though Larenz’s voice was a bit weak but as he went further he was happy to see him give such an emotional performance.
Vince Sings Mariah Carey hit
Next was contender from Cebu, 10-year-old Vince Edward Blaya. Apart from singing, Vince loves games and wants to become a game developer someday. He and his sister share the same interest in singing. Vince surprised the judges and audience singing Mariah Carey’s hit, “Emotions” hitting those super high head tone notes.
Judge Mitoy said he was very entertained by Vince’s performance and said he should go on and continue to pursue what he loves. Judge Nyoy was also entertained and impressed by how Vince performed the song. He advised him though to take extra care in executing his notes next time.
Arjelou sings Dakilang Lahi
Last contender was 9-year-old Arjelou Palatolon from Saranggani. Arjelou loves playing outdoors next to singing. He looks up to singers like Sarah Geronimo. Today, he sang “Dakilang Lahi.”
