Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids March 28 Episode: Larenz Pableo Wins For The Second Time

POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG/RECAP: On the Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids March 28 episode, three contenders vying to take the top spot brought it all out on stage. Cheska Gopo, Fregemila Estrada, and Johnwyn Pongase are today’s three new contestants. After the showdown, Luzon Defending Champion, Larenz Pableo, wins again. This is his third win in Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids. On the side, Erich Gonzales joins the panel of judges on today’s episode.

Cheska Gopo, the Facebook Singer, is the First Contender from Caloocan City

11-year-old Cheska is the first contender from Caloocan City. Her father is a construction worker while her mother is a fulltime housewife. She is currently in the sixth grade and dreams of becoming a doctor. She hopes to be one because her second sibling has a heart condition. In her downtime, Cheska likes uploading videos of herself singing cover songs. She shares this on her Facebook page to get a lot of likes. In the show, she did a rendition of Charice Pempengco’s song, “In This Song.” She was encouraged to work on her vocal range through vocalization.

Fregemila Estrada, the Kiddie Fashionista, is the Second Contender from Visayas

Aside from singing, Fregemila loves to design gowns. She dreams of creating designs that Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda will use someday. The 11-year-old hails from Dumaguete and joined Tawag ng Tanghalan to share her talent and to meet Anne and Vice personally. Her mother works as a call center agent. Her parents tell her to study hard to achieve her dream. Fregemila sang one of the best songs of all time by the Carpenters entitled, “You.” Jaya could not help but get into a duet with Fregemila. She even did the second voice. The judges say that her voice has a certain tone like those of Disney characters.

Johnwyn Pongase, The Long Distance Jammer, is the Third Contender from Mindanao

Johnwyn is 10 years old and lives in Bukidnon. He and his family speaks with his dad working in China six times a day through video calls. His dad is a musician and like him, Johnwyn loves singing and making music. He practices with his cousin who also goes with him in auditions. When time allows, Johnwyn and his dad play music online, jamming to any song the father and son would think of. Johnwyn sang “Mama” by Smokey Mountain. He even sort of danced with TV host Jhong. When the hosts mention that even Johnwyn’s mom can sing, they asked her to sing. Mommy sang “I will Survive,” and meant every word. Amy Perez, sang her heart out, too. Giving her own rendition of the same. Even Ann Curtis didn’t let this chance go by, she sang “I Will Survive” as a third try on the show.

Defending Champion, Larenz Pableo, Wins the 3rd Time

To defend the title, Larenz Pableo of Luzon sang “The Impossible Dream” by Frank Sinatra. After the showdown, Larenz wins garnering a total of 91 percent. This is his second win as a Defending Champion. Congratulations Larenz!
