Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids March 31 Performances, Gab Orolfo sings Carrie

Eleven-year-old Gab Orolfo from Cavite was first to impress the judges. Gab loves playing basketball and got his singing talent from his father. His father was caught up in an encounter with the NPA and got shot in the leg and now uses crutches. Gab sang “Carrie” by Europe for today’s competition. If he wins, he hopes to help out his family and buy new crutches for his father.

Judge Erik Santos advised Gab to be careful in executing his notes but he was able to redeem himself through his powerful voice towards the middle of the song. Judge Kayla loved Gab’s vibrato and gave tips on dynamics.

Maria Francheska Rojas Sings Stand By You

Maria Francheska Rojas from Makati was next on stage. This 10-year-old is oozing with confidence in a good way. This adorable little one is the only daughter of an insurance coordinator and a medical technician. Aside from singing, she loves calligraphy and even took lessons to learn more. Maria sang “Stand By You” by Marliza Punzalan.

“You are adorable and so smart” says judge Billy Crawford. Billy says Francheska sings like an adult and called her performance natural with her diction and her voice. “You will be an amazing singer and performer one of these days and you have a bright future” says Billy.

Dj Oblianda sings Celine Dion Hit

Last contender was 11-year-old Dj Oblianda from Davao City. Apart from singing with his step father, he loves swimming and fishing. After class, Dj would catch fishes and give them to his mother for dinner. Dj’s biological father left when he was just 3 months old. His mom stays at home while his step father works as a construction worker. Dj took on Celine Dion singing “Immortality” hoping to impress the judges.

Judge Jed Madela commented on Dj’s performance. He mentioned Dj’s strengths which were clarity of voice and how precise he was with his notes. Jed advised him to let go and not think so much for him to bring out the real potential of his voice. Judge K Brosas said she loved Dj’s soft tones and called his performance theatrical.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids March 31 Winner

Two-time defending champion Macky Empuerto fights for his title singing Destiny Child’s “Stand Up For Love.” The judges will have a difficult time deciding on this one as all contenders gave their best in giving splendid performances.

The judges have decided, today’s winner garnering an average score of 96.6 percent is– Macky Empuerto. Well done Macky! Two more wins and he becomes the next semi-finalist.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids airs Mondays to Fridays on ABS-CBN at noon.
