Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids May 26 Live Blog: John Jamiel Convicto Fights For Spot On Semi-Finals

POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG: This is John Jamiel Convicto’s most crucial moment. John is TNT’s four-time defending champion and winning Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids May 26 episode gives him his fifth win. Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids May 26 Performances, daily winner, and champion

First contender, Romeo Espino. Kiddie contender from Metro Manila is 12-year-old Romeo. Romeo has five older sisters so he usually looks for boy stuff to do out of the house. He plays billiards with some of his friends or sometimes spends time with his tita doing karaoke. Romeo sang “Imagine” by John Lennon hoping to grab the title from John Jamiel.

Judge Jaya loved Romeo’s good disposition and said he already had a vocal style which Romeo has yet to discover and explore. She and Judge K Brosas enjoyed his performance and said he has a distinct vocal style which he can improve on.

Second contender, Galeno “Rock” Opong. Eleven-year-old Rock is kiddie contender form Iloilo. His nickname came from her mom’s idol, The Rock Dwayne Johnson. This kid has big dreams. He wants to become an NBA star like Kyrie Irving and a singer like Adam Levine. Galeno plays the drums and the guitar and has been learning since he was four. He now takes on Loius Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World.” After his performance, Rock played some tunes with the guitar and sang “Open Arms.”

Head judge Galeno called him a complete musician because aside from singing, he can play instruments and can interpret songs well. Ogie said he had what they call “hagod” and said he was touched by Rock’s performance.

Third contender, Rjay Cuizon. Rjay is 6-year-old kiddie contender from Zamboanga del Sur. This young one loves swimming and playing outdoors. If not in the playground, he goes to an internet shop and watches YouTube videos. This is how he learns new songs and gets to practice singing. Rjay sang “Thousand Years” hoping to impress the judges.

Judge Billy said Rjay was very sincere in his performance and said he sang with his heart which inspired everyone on the show. Rjay made Vice Ganda, Amy Perez, Ogie Alcasid and other judges tear a bit because of Rjay’s sincerity.

TNT Kids May 26 face-off, Friday winner, and champion. Kiddie contender who will challenge four-time defending champion John Jamiel Convicto is Galeno “Rock” Opong garnering an average score of 93 percent.

Rock challenged John Jamiel with the song “Faithfully” by the Journey while John sang “Maghintay Ka Lamang.”

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids May 26 champion is John Jamiel Convicto winning an average score of 94 percent. This is John’s fifth win which automatically makes him an addition to kiddie contenders who made it to the semi-finals. Congratulations John!

Kiddie contenders who won as daily winners but weren’t able to make it as champions will be fighting head to head for a spot on the semi-finals on May 27, Saturday, during the Kiddie Resbakers. Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids airs Mondays to Saturdays on ABS-CBN at noon.
