POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG: The search is on for another kiddie resbaker on Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids May 29 episode. Four contenders will fight for a spot on the Ultimate Resbak Day on June 3 as they sing their hearts out today. On Friday, May 26, John Jamiel Convito became the next addition to the list of semi-finalists. Click here to read a recap of Friday’s episode.

On Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids May 27 episode, the first batch of kiddie resbakers fought head to head to make it to the Ultimate Resbak Day on June 3. Bench Ivan Nicanor from Caloocan City who won as defending champion on March 18, Reign Courthney Basa who won defending champion on April 17, Cheska Rohas who was on the show on March 31 and Judie Langcoban who won as daily winner on April 1. On Saturday, Reign won over three other contenders with an average score of 92.8 percent.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids May 28 performances and Monday Kiddie Resbaker

First contender, John Carlo Tan. Twelve-year-old kiddie contender from Tondo Manila wants a second chance on TNT kids. He was a 2-time defending champion in April when another contender took the title from him. John is back singing “Habang May Buhay.”

Judge Louie Ocampo said John Carlo’s performance was perfect. He said he was oozing wih self confidence, he had great stage presence, and his voice was, yes, perfect.

Second contender, Kate Francesca Campo. Kiddie contender from Rizal first sang on the TNT stage in March. Kate is back hoping to make it this time. She sang”Nagiisang Bituin” by Angeline Quinto hoping to beat today’s contenders.

Judge Kyla enjoyed Kate’s performance and said she and the judges had goosebumps all through out her performance. Kyla added Kate’s voice was powerful and a bit mature for her age which was good. One of her favorite performances says Kyla.

Third contender, John Miguel Onia. John is 9-year-old kiddie contender from Negros Occidental. He joined TNT in March and now takes the stage of TNT for the second time taking complements of the judges before as his motivation. John sang The Journey’s hot, “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

Theater was something John should really explore says Judge Billy Crawford. He also said everything was fine but commented on how he moves on stage and how it affects his performance and voice. But all in all, it was still a great performance.

Fourth contender, Justin Tan. Justin is 11-year-old contender from Davao. He won as daily winner and defending champion for one day in March. Justin comes back stronger and is motivated to become the first Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids winner. He sang “Nais Ko” by Ryan Cayabyab.

Judge Erik Santos said he has the voice quality, good facial expression, and stage presence. All in all a very good performance.

Monday Resbaker to return on June 3. Before the announcement of Monday resbaker, head judge Yeng Constantino gave a few words saying each contender had their own strengths that will help them make it.

Four contenders gave their best for the second time but there can only be one winner for today. The judges have decided, Monday kiddie resbaker is contender from Metro Manila, John Carlo Tan. 

John Carlo Tan makes it Ultimate Resbak Day on June 3. Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids airs Mondays to Saturdays on ABS-CBN at noon on It’s Showtime.
