POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG/RECAP: Sidro Quilicol remains unbeatable as he fights for his fourth win on Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids May 8 episode. On Saturday, Sidro grabbed his third win getting an average score of 95.2 percent beating daily winner Pierre Justine Corral. Sidro’s winning piece on Saturday was “Nais Ko.” Will Sidro get his fourth win today?

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids May 8 Performances

First contender, David Niel Amata. David is 12-year-old kiddie contender from Batangas. He loves playing chess, tops his class and dreams of becoming an engineer someday. His father works as a security guard while his mother is a stay-at-home mom. David sang “Ever Since The World Began” by Survivor.

Judge Jaya said she and the judges loved David’s song choice and said they were entertained by his performance. She also called him a good story teller and also said she loved his voice. Judge Nyoy said he liked the fact that David pronounced his words well in his performance.

Second contender, Angelico Claridad. Angelico “Echo” from Bacolod City got the love for singing from his father who used to join amateur singing contests. Echo saw his father singing when he was two years old and has looked up to him since. Angelico sang “You Changed My Life In A Moment.”

Judge Yeng Constantino heard a bit of Aiza Seguerra while listening to Angelico’s voice and said his voice is good for radio. He just had to practice more in hitting those high notes.

Third contender, Christine Basanez. Kiddie contender Christine from Surigao del Sur was the last contender of the day. Christine has been joining singing contests since she was 9 years old. She now takes the stage singing “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw.”

Judge K Brosas said she loved the control of Christine’s voice but lacked a bit of power that the song demanded.

TNT Kids May 8 battles and winner. David, Angelico and Christine gave it their all but only one can be named today’s winner. Monday winner is Angelico who got an average score of 92.6 percent.

For the face-off, Angelico sang “Miracle” by Whitney Houston while three-time defending champion Sidro Quilicol, theatrical as always, sang “Kay Ganda Ng Ating Musika” by Ryan Cayabyab.

It is Angelico vs Sidro. Today’s winner getting an average score of 91.4 percent is– Sidro Quilicol. This is Sidro’s fourth win on the show. One more win and he makes it to the semi-finals.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids airs Mondays to Saturdays on ABS-CBN at noon.
