Tawag Ng Tanghalan Huling Tapatan Day 2 Performances
Similar to the ultimate resbakers week long competition, scores will also be based on the text voters’ and hurados’ votes.
Pauline Inspired By Friends In Lipa, Batangas
First on stage was Pauline Agupitan. Pauline met with actress — former Batangas governor and now congresswoman — Vilma Santos. Her family prepared a welcome party for her and the community gathered to give her a warm welcome as well. Pauline sang Nais Ko inspired by her kababayans. She started a bit off with her tempo but made sure she made her mark hitting the high notes of her song.
Hurado Karla said, “Ginalingan mo kaya para sa akin, congratulations in advance.” She also loved her stage presence and liked how she finished strong.
Froilan Canlas Visits Camarines Sur
Froilan went home to visit his family. Unfortunately, his grandfather passed away but he was very to be back home with his mom. The community sure did give him a loud welcome which made him emotional.
For today’s battle, Froilan sang Anak by Freddie Aguilar. Froilan covered Freddie Aguilar songs on the show before. It seems the hurados enjoyed this powerful performance. As usual, Froilan started a bit with a mellow touch, gave it a strong push towards the middle, then gave his signature falsetto voice at the end.
Hosts Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis loved how Froilan advocates OPM songs and indigenous instruments. Hurado Kyla said Froilan’s version was the best male rendition she heard so far. “I only wish you the best, sana maka about ka sa Saturday” says Kyla.
Sam Mangubat Visits Angels In Batangas
Sam shares how his interest in music started in church. His father is a pastor and Sam is so happy that he is able to make his churchmates and father proud. He was given a warm welcome as well from the community. Sam doesn’t know how he deserved so much attention. But he now uses the attention, each applause and cheer to fuel him in his performance today.
Sam sang Yeng Constantino’s hit Ikaw. A note for Sam’s angels, he wasn’t wearing his famous lucky bonnet today. Instead he was wearing a full- on suit with coat and tie. Hurado Karylle said “You’re really a star” and loved how much he has grown on the show.
Gidget Dela Llana Meets Father Because Of TNT
Gidget shares how she wasn’t able to know her father well since she grew up with her mom. She says it was through Tawag Ng Tanghalan that she was able to finally meet her father. Gidget visited Laguna and spent time with her father to make up for the lost time. Her father shared how he took care of Gidget when she was still a baby, saying it was he who changed her diapers and cooked food for her.
“Gaano Kadalas Ang Minsan” was Gidget’s contest piece for today. That long high note in the end, whoa! Hurado Yeng Constantino loved how she looked like such a star today. “Tinding mo palang, nakakasindak na” says hurado Yeng but today Gidget was a bit vulnerdable. Even if she wasn’t able to give a 100 percent powerful performance, Yeng was happy to see her fighting spirit.
Eumee Capile Visits Bulacan, Thanks Alma Mater
Eumee visited Maycauayan, Bulacan and made her first stop at the school where she graduated. Her teachers described her as “pasaway” but creative and seemed to be the life of the party. For today’s show, Eumee sang Bridge Over Troubled Waters, showcasing her powerful “birit” voice. It seems she gave the best performance of her life not letting any note stop her from going higher and higher and higher.
Punong hurado Rey Valera started off by saying it was a very difficult choice for them and said today’s contenders were the “halimaws” or the hurados choices. For Eumee’s performance, Rey Valera said, “Hanep ka, iba ka talaga.”
