Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids May 1 Recap: Louijille Soriano Goes For Second Win

On Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids May 1 episode, 10-year-old Loujille Soriano from Leyte fought for her second win. Loujille became defending champion on Saturday, April 29. She won over ex-defending champion John Carlo Tan who was going for his third win.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids May 1 performances

First contender, Geness Nery. First on stage was 11-year-old Geness Nery from Paranaque. Geness’ parents work abroad so she grew up with her grandparents. She was three when she started singing. She dedicated her performance to her grandparents singing “Ngayon Bukas At Kailanman” by Sarah Geronimo.

To her performance, Judge Karylle said it takes a nice voice and a pure heart to give justice to the song and Karylle said Geness had those qualities.

Second contender, Alexa Ruth Liboon. Next on stage was Alexa Ruth Liboon from Palawan. This 12-year-old is a daughter of a fisherman and dreams of becoming a teacher. She starts by teaching some of the children in her neighborhood. Alexa lives in an island and studies in the city. Her father brings her to school every day using their fishing boat. She sang “Maghihintay Ako” by Jona Viray for her performance.

Judge Billy Crawford said Alexa had the voice and called her style technical. He advised her to pay attention on how she shifts from head tone to normal voice and improve on how she connects with the audience.

Third contender,  Nil Gabriel Boloron. Last contender of the day was Nil Gabriel Boloron from Davao Del Norte. Nil’s father is a car mechanic while his mom, a teacher. He hopes that someday he could be a teacher too. Nil loves playing volleyball and preoccupies himself time with a Rubik’s cube. Nil sang “Better World” by Smokey Mountain.

Judge Kyla noticed Nil did the sign of the cross before his performance and appreciated that. She saw how Nil gave his best in his performance and it didn’t matter if he won or not, what’s important is he keeps practicing and fighting. Judge Nyoy said Nil was very charming on stage, had a wide vocal range and had good showmanship.

TNT Kids May 1 battle and winner. Three contenders gave their best but there can only be one daily winner. Monday winner is Geness Nery. Geness battled defending champion Loujille Soriano singing “Follow Your Dreams” by Sheryn Regis. Louijille, on the other hand, sang “I Who Have Nothing” by Shirley Bassey.

The judges have decided, the title “defending champion” garnering an average score of 94 percent belongs to — Geness Nery. Geness will be fighting for her second win on Tuesday, May 2.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids airs Mondays to Saturdays on ABS-CBN at noon.
