POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG, RECAP: On Tawag Ng Tanghalan November 9 episode, Jerald Castro battled new contenders from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Unfortunately, Hurado Rey Valera signaled the gong for two contestants. Lady Diana Onaga was the only contender who made it. Jerald “Jade” Castro won the battle against Lady Diana with an average score of 92.8 percent. Jade remains as Tawag Ng Tanghalan’s defending champion.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan November 9 Performances

First contender was Maryglo de Leola from Quezon City. This 20-year-old  sells ‘puto’ made my her mother to help in the family. Maryglo sang Regine Velasquez’s song, “Shine.” Unfortunately,  Hurado Rey Valera gave the signal to sound the gong. Hurado Rey Valrea said she had a good voice, but because she was nervous she wasn’t able to hit the right notes. Hurado Karylle and Louie Ocampo agreed with hurado Rey and said she has a lot of chances in the future.

Next on stage was Lady Diana Onaga from Taytay Rizal. Lady is not new to the entertainment industry. She belongs to a singing group called “5th Gen” and they have performed local and abroad. Lady sang Tina Turner’s hit, “The Best.” She is trying to make ends meet with her mom since her dad died of aneurysm. Hurado Valera said there was no problem with her voice but commented a little on her intimidating ‘rebellious’ character on stage.

Last contender was Danica Catalan from Mindanao. She is a band vocalist and single mom to a 3-year-old girl. Danica sang “Kunin Mo Na Ang Lahat sa Akin.” Unfortunately, Hurado Rey Valera gave the signal to sound the gong. The second gong for today. Hurado Rey said it wasn’t her voice, she was just very nervous. Hurado Mitoy asked Danica the kind of songs she performs since she sings in bars. They found out her song choice was not very comfortable for her.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan November 9 Wednesday Daily Winner

Maryglo and Danica were automatically disqualified. Lady Diana Onaga is automatically Tawag Ng Tanghalan’s Wednesday daily winner. Lady Danica sang the hit song “If I Were a Boy” by Beyonce. Defending champion Jerald “Jade” Castro battled daily winner with a classic hit by The Beatles, “Yesterday.”

Jade Castro won the battle against Lady Danica with an average score of 92.8 percent. Jade remains as Tawag Ng Tanghalan’s defending champion.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan airs every Monday to Saturday, 2:00 p.m. on ABS-CBN.
