Tawag ng Tanghalan sa Showtime takes on new contestants on the stage. On Monday, October 10, three contestants battled to be the daily winner. Mark Ian Badajos from Luzon who gave a ‘safe performance’ according to Hurado Louie. Next was Roberto Mabuhay from Samar who hit high notes with the song “Aray,” Last contender was Adriel Froi Vicente from Davao who, according to Hurado Rico Jay Puno, wasn’t able to give did good bust wasn’t able to do clear shift to his falsetto riffs.

After a battle between the three, Roberto Mabuhay was declared the daily winner. He challenged three time defending champion Hazelyn Cascaño. Hazel sang Jennifer Hudson’s “I am Changing” which allowed her to keep her title.

First to take the stage was rock bandista Michael Jhon Marzan from Metro Manila. Michael is a 29 year old vocalist in band based in Batangas. He sang Jovit Baldivino’s “Ika’y Mahal Parin” which showcased his rocker vibe and voice.

After his performance, Hurado Karyll said she was happy with his performance because he was very passionate. Hurado Karla Estrada also gave her comment and said, “I like your vocal range, alam ko may iaangat ka pa.”

Next performer was 19-year old Melanie Cinco from Leyte. Despite her beautiful voice, Melanie was out. She sang Charice Pempengco’s “Always You” which was a bit difficult for her. Hurado Yeng said, “ang pagkakagong hindi sukatan kung pangit oh hindi ang boses, maganda ang boses, kinabahan ka lang ang naramdaman namin ang hesitation lalo na sa pagakyat ng song. Bumalik ka ng mas confident.”

Because of this, Melani Cinco is automatically out of the competition.

First Tawag ng Tanghalan defending champion, Michelle Arcain was the third performer. The ‘resbaker’ from Mindanao is back to steal the title. She said, “gagawin ko ang lahat para bawiin ang trono.” The Grade three teacher sang “You Don’t have to say You Love” by Dusty Springfield.

Hurado Kayla liked the idea that Michelle was very prepared and said, “Mukhang handang handa ka sa laban.” Hurado K Brosas however, was a little concerned about Michelle’s song choice, she said she started well but when it came to the peak of the song, she lacked power.

Rakista Michael Jhon Marzan won October 11 Tawag ng Tanghalan with an average percentage of 90.2 percent. Will he beat defending champion Hazelyn Cascaño?

To challenge Hazelyn, Michael sang “All I Need” by Jack Wagner. Defending champion Hazelyn battles Michael with a classic from Barbra Streisand, “Somewhere.”

With an average score of 92.4 percent, Hazelyn Cascaño still sits as the defending champion. There are only two more slots open for the grand finals. Will Hazel make it? Who are the next challengers for Quarter four? Stay tuned for another live blog on October 12.
