Rico Garcia sings “I Feel Good” by James Brown. Rico has been with his partner Dess for 14 years now. He dedicates his performance to her. It’s his way of saying thank you for standing by him all these years. Because of that, he didn’t have to live life on his own. He said with her life isn’t just sugar and spice, but it definitely makes everything nice.
Judge Jaya said it was difficult to judge since it wasn’t just about his performance today, but him as a performer as whole. She said age is one of Rico’s disadvantage but because of his dedication in pursuing his dream, he becomes an inspiration to many.
John Raymundo sings “Ngayon” by Basil Valdez. John has gone through many challenges in life in the past. He survived and is now in a better place in his life. Because of that, he only wants to focus on the now, the present and the future.
Judge K Brosas said John didn’t just sing but he made a statement through his performance. She said she was looking forward to John’s future gigs and mentioned how happy she was to part of his journey in music.
Remy Luntayao sings “This Is My Life” by Shirley Bassey. Remy and her siblings have experienced being bullied by their neighbors whenever they practice singing. People around them would always say she would never be good enough and that she wouldn’t have a future in her music. But she never gave up. Instead she decides to write her own destiny and proves to everyone she can and she will. On a side note, guest TNT judge once before offered to help Remy’s mom with her dialysis and medication.
Remy received a standing ovation from all the judges after her performance. Head Judge Rey Valera said that for the first time, he felt Remy’s heart in her performance. He saw how much Remy has grown in the competition and advised her follow professional ethics she’s learned while on set with the crew and staff of TNT.
Mark Michael Garcia sings “Win” by Brian McKnight. Mark has had several ups and downs in his career. In 2009, his band produced an album. But it was also in the same year when they disbanded. The height of his singing career turned out to be the lowest time of his career as well. But Mark didn’t lose hope. He chose to stand up, move on and do something about failure. He joined another band, went abroad and now on his way to pursue his ultimate dream: become a famous singer.
Judge Mitoy pointed out how much similarities he had with Mark when it came to life experiences. He encouraged him to keep on believing.
Anton Antenorcruz sings “Stand Up For Love” by Destiny’s Child. Anton learned to become independent at a young age. Part of being independent was facing challenges on his own. Anton was bullied in high school because of the color of skin. This eventually killed his self confidence which affected his love for singing and performing. For a time he always had his eyes on the ground, but finally decided to stand up for himself and his dream.
