Tawag ng Tanghalan starts with Quarter 4 on #ShowtimeOctoberNaTENto
First contestant who took the stage was Mark Ian Badajos, a Mass Communication student from Luzon. He sang the song “Exchange of Heart” by David Slater. Mark is the eldest in his family and supports his five siblings. His father passed away because of liver cancer. He was immediately in tears when he was talking about his education. To that, Vice Ganda was moved to help with Mark’s tuition and said he will pay for next semester.
Hurado Louie Ocampo said he was able to give a safe performance. Louie said he did a good job except for some low notes that weren’t so clear and some flat notes in the middle of the song. Hurado Karyll said, “Malinaw, swabe, lagyan lang ng konting sipa ang mga pag-angat.”
Next on stage was 40-year-old singer Roberto Mabuhay from Samar with his rendition of the song “Aray.” The judges were surprised with his high-pitched voice and he seemed to catch the attention of the audience. Hurado Jaya said, “Ang galing mo, grabe ang boses mo ang taas, pakiramdam ko magaling na magaling ka, fit na fit ang boses mo sa kanta.”
Roberto supports his mother who is now blind with diabetes. Knowing this, some hosts of Showtime like Vice and Rico chipped in a total amount of P25,000 to help with the maintenance and hospital fees of Roberto’s mom. Such a great way to start Mondays!
Third performer was Adriel Froi Vicente, from Davao. The judges were at the tip of their toes listening intently to him while he sang the song “Di Bale Nalang” by Gary Valenciano. Hurado Kayla said he picked the right song, and praised him for his phrasing and vocal control. Hurado Rico Jay Puno on the other hand said, “Ang galing mo, may inaantay lang kame konti, medyo hindi malinaw ang pag shift sa falsetto, kargahan mo pa.”
Adriel, a father, works as a driver and purchaser. During the evening, he sings at a bar to sustain his family.
