Tawag ng Tanghalan October 17 Performances

First on stage was 15-year-old ‘matin-diva’ Giedie Laroco. She has been singing since she was five years old. Giedie sang “I Believe” by Fantasia Barrino, a challenging song for a girl her age because of its vocal riffs.

Hurado Yeng really liked the quality of her voice and likened it to voices in theater and Disney animations. Yeng advised her and said, “Bilang ate mo, ingatan mo lang ang low notes mo.” Hurado Nyoy on the other hand said her voice just needs to be refined.

Next on stage was ‘ama-sigasig’ contender from Cebu, Edu Catapan. The 25-year-old sang “Kasalanan” by Orient Pearl which showcased his rocker voice.

Hurado Rey Valera liked his song choice and said technically, he can’t give any comment because overall he was pleased with his performance.

Last contender of the day was ‘masipag-aral diva’ from Davao del Sur, Jeramie Sanico who gave a powerful performance of “Dakilang Lahi” by Ciara Sotto. Ciara makes ‘graham balls’ and sells them at school to raise her own allowance. Vice Ganda was moved to help Ciara so much because of her story.

While Jerami was singing, judges were discussing and talking about her. Hurado Jaya liked how deep her voice was and how she was able to ‘carry’ and own the song and the stage as well. She said Jeramie was a star in the making. Hurado Karylle sais she had a good feeling about her and advised her to just be careful with her breathing.

#Magpasikat2016BiLLyRyan October 17, Monday Daily Winner

Jeramie sang one of Hurado Yeng’s song, “Salamat.” Hurado Nyoy Volante was seen smiling during her performance while Yeng was evidently enjoying the performance and gave a standing ovation together with Jaya and Nyoy. Hazelyn Cascaño, the eight-time defending champion, tried to keep her place and sang “I’ll never Love This Way Again.”

With an average score of 95 percent, Jeramie Sanico won the battle and took the microphone from Hazelyn Cascaño. Jeramie is now the new defending champion as Hazelyn remains to be one of the semi-finalist.
