Tawag ng Tanghalan, Jeramie Sanico

It’s the second day of “It’s Showtime” 7th anniversary week and we have yet to see more surprises from the hosts of the show. Team BillyRyan gave their performance in #magpasikat2016BillyRyan. They were the first to compete in the ‘magpasikat 2016’ segment of the show in celebration of its anniversary. Today’s ‘magpasikat’ number is from Team VhongJhong!

Team VhongJhong was joined by HTs Nikko, Jon, Luke and GT’s Jessica, Leyana, and Riva. Their number started with a ‘drag race’ in a city, and then a basketball match between Vhong and his teammates. The theme was mostly about fights between anime characters. The presentation made use of a lot of synchronized movement with visual effects from a 4D hologram. Cool!

There was a special appearance from actor Eddie Garcia via VTR giving a ‘baton’ to Vhong giving tribute to workers such as janitors who have worked with the show.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan October 18 Performances

On October 17 episode of Tawag ng Tanghalan sa Showtime, Jeramie Sanico from Davao del Sur took the microphone from eight-time defending campion, Hazelyn Cascaño. Jeramie is now the new defending champion. Will she win today’s battle against new contenders?

First contender, 25-year-old ‘makisigNature’ voice from Luzon, Anthony Rosaldo took the stage. This ‘mama’s boy’ sang “Nanghihinayang” by Jeremiah. Anthony used the song to showcase his voice, as he transposed the song a pitch higher towards the middle. Swabe!

Hurado Yeng was pleased with his performance and said he was able to use the song to his advantage. She commented on his stage performance which was very obvious since girls in the studio couldn’t help but fee; the ‘kilig’ factor while he was on stage. Karylle advised Anthony to be mindful of his endings.

Next on stage was band vocalist Joybell Paglicawan from Occidental Mindoro. Joybell is the daughter of a farmer. She plans to help her brother who lost an arm and leg to a construction accident if she makes it. Joybell sang the song “Halik” by the Aegis.

Unfortunately, ‘na-gong’ si Joybell. It could be her song choice since Punong Hurado Rey Valera advised her not to choose songs that are too high. Automatically, Joybell will not continue on the show. But, Vice Ganda offered to help with the business of Joybell’s brother. Great!

Last contender was ‘manlala-kantasero’ from Capiz, Mario Abela. The 44-year-old vendor of band aid, blade and other supplies makes P400 a day and only takes home P150. He is the breadwinner of the family. Mario sang “Magdalena” by Freddie Aguilar.

Hurado Nyoy Volante liked his performance but said that it wasn’t a really clean performance. Hurado K Brosas said he wasn’t very original and was too close to Freddie Aguilar’s version but said she liked his personality.
