Tawag Ng Tanghalan October 28: ‘Resbaker’ Edzel Herrera Daily Winner and New Defending Champion- Popcorn Time Live Blog

On Tawag Ng Tanghalan sa Showtime October 27 episode, daily winner Zed Asuncion beat 4-time defending champion Kim Mainit with a score of 93.6 percent. Zed is now the new defending champion for the show. Unfortunately, Kim Mainit didn’t make it to the semi-finals. If he won the battle against Zed on October 27, that would’ve given him a spot.

First to take the stage was ‘resbaker’ Edzel Ryan Herrera from Luzon. Edzel sang “It Must Have Been Love” by Roxette. Since his last performance on the show, he said he failed to make it because of his song choice. Edzel came back to the show hoping for a second chance.

Hurado Billy Crawford liked the range and ‘raspiness’ of Edzel’s voice. He wished him luck since its his second time on the show. Hurado Nyoy also liked the texture of his voice but said his song was a bit relaxed and wasn’t able to showcase the potential of his voice.

Next on stage was Kian Joy Guarin from Cavite. This Grade 10 student loves the stage. She is a theater and choir member at the school she attends. Kian took on Lea Salonga’s song, “Salamat Salamat.”

Hurado Rey Valera liked the fact that she was very on point in her song. He commended Kian for being so active in music and performing arts. He advised Kian to take it easy and enjoy her youth while she is still 14 years old.

Last contender for the day was ‘mananaHit-maker’ from Cebu, Jhun Peneaso, the oldest contender for the day. He said he made singing his life. Jhun sang “Delilah” by Tom Jones.

Hrado Kyla said Jhun was such a performer/entertainer because of his moves on stage. He was able to put such emotions in his song. She advised him to be careful with his diction and enunciation while singing. Hurado Eric Santos agreed with Kyla and also said he had to be clearer in his pronunciation.

Garnering an average score of 91.2 percent, Edzel Ryan Herrera is Friday daily winner. Edzel sang “Heaven” by Bryan Adams to try to grab the title from Zed Asuncion. Zed is the new defending champion. Zed sang “Angels Brought Me Here” by Guy Sebastian.

With an average score of 92.6 percent, Edzel Herrera won the battle! Edzel is Tawag Ng Tanghalan’s new defending champion.
