Tawag ng Tanghalan sa Showtime, TV Reality shows

After the unfortunate performance of Christopher Rodrigueza on the October 4 episode of Tawag ng Tanghalan sa Showtime, only 5 semi-finalists fight for the win. Tawag ng Tanghalan October 5 performances were all about songs dedicated to their families. Here are the 5 semi-finalists and what the judges had to say about each of them.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Oct. 5 Performances

First on stage was Jennie Gabriel from Metro Manila, with a very emotional rendition of the song “Hanggang.” After her performace, Jaya, the guest judge for today said Jennie has gone far in the competition and has never doubted her ever since she saw her first for the first time. She added, “I’m now a big fan!” Jaya was teary-eyed when she said this since she likened Jennie to a baby she’s seen has grown and improved so much.

Next on stage was Rufino ‘Lucky’ Robles from Baclaran. Since he is now appointed by his father as the next leader or breadwinner of the family, he sang “Leader of the Band” of course dedicated to his parents who were in the studio during his performance. His performance was very challenging because of the songs high pitch to which Vice Ganda likened him from being Richard Poon to Jed Madela. Louie couldn’t help but shed a tear because of his parents. Judge Louie Ocampo said technically Lucky was good and further said, “If I had more than two thumbs ill give you more than two thumbs up.”

Representative from Luzon, Antonio Zabalza owned the stage with the song “This Time It’ll be Sweeter.” He dedicated this song to his family most especially to his grandchildren. He hopes that him winning Tawag ng Tanghalan is a legacy he could leave with them. Antonio has been with his wife for 43 years now and has 9 children. Yeng Constantino, one of today’s judges said he sang effortlessly and said he brought a different kind of joy.

Finalist from Bulacan, Eumee Capile sang Whitney Houston’s “Run To You” and says she will give her best to win the competition for her family. Her performance was one to be remembered because of her powerful voice. Rey Valera, Tawag ng Tanghalan judge said her performance was impressive. “Impressive in the way you dress, perform and carry yourself” he said. She was supported by relative and friends on set.

Noven Belleza, finalist from Visayas is the eldest of eight children. He sang “Just as I Am” and dedicated it to his seven other brothers and sisters. He said it doesn’t matter if he wins the competition, he will always be “kuya” to each of them. Judge Karla Estrada said that everything he did was perfect and that she was with him until the end.
